Problem..Help

Problem..Help

i need help with this one. My FSIL has a fairly large chest. When I went to pick out BM dresses with one of my friends I had called her up and asked her if she would be comfortable wearing a strapless dress which has detachable spagetti straps that she could wear. She said no problem that is fine. I really didn't think it would be a problem anyway because in the summer time she wears spagetti strap tanks all the time. I just wanted to make sure and give her a curtosy call.
Well I found the most amazing BM dresses. Very forgiving in anyone. It is strapless and the front comes up fairly high so no cleavage should be shown. And as I said detachable straps which anyone can wear. I ordered them, my MOH and my friend went and got measured.
My FSIL tells me the other day that she can't wear strapless. She said she is going to have a problem finding a bra and she is concerned because she has a scar under her arm.
HI...SOMETHING YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME BEFORE I PICKED OUT THE DRESS AND TWO OF MY GIRLS GOT MEASURED FOR.. Ok i am not about pick out a new dress. She wants me to get her a different dress. I DONT THINK SO. If she was my MOH fine a different dress would be acceptable. I told her she could wear a wrap and she said that would be annoying. SHe just wants to wear a different dress. What should I do?? Help

Honestly?? I would tell her 'sorry, the dresses are ordered! Plus, you DID say you would be able to wear strapless. Sorry you won't be happy with it, but I am not changing it.'

Period.

One of my BM also has a larger chest and she is fine with wearing strapless. She said that she has a corset-type bra that she usually wears with strapless dresses. Ask FSIL to look into getting one of those to wear under the dress. Tell her that you're sorry she's uncomfortable and you wish she would've mentioned this sooner, but there's really nothing that can be done to change the dress at this point. Good luck!

That's terrible! You went out of your way to check with her before picking one out. Any chance the dress would cover up this scar and she doesn't realize it? Or how often will she be holding her arms up in the air anyway! Did you mention how you had already asked her about it and remind her there are straps she can put on it? Maybe even go out of your way again to do some bra research for her? So sorry you have to deal with this.

Exactly!! It cant become your problem that she changed her mind now..insist that if shes really that uncomfortable she can wear a wrap like you said, she cant exactly get picky after you've ordered the dresses!

I plan on wearing a corset type bra being that my chest is big not as big as hers. Thats not a bad idea. Maybe I will even buy it for her when I get mine to make her happy. I am just such a pushover and I always have to please everyone. I have a hard time putting my foot down. I am just going to have to suck it up and be a bridezilla on this one.

well, tell her it isn't strapless, it has the detachable straps!
I don't like strapless, but I've never tried & I when I was a BM the bride asked if there was 1 thing we wanted to avoid & I said strapless, but I would have lived with it if that's what she picked.

You're not being a bridezilla at all! You asked FSIL from the start whether she would feel comfortable wearing strapless or detachable straps. She said yes and it's not your fault that she suddenly decided to change her mind after you've already found the dress.

You know what you are right. She hasn't even tried the dress on yet and shes telling me it isn't going to work. I am going to take her to the store have her try on the dress and tell her that we will find a bra that works because this is the dress that I picked out. Now I just have to get the courage to do it.

Tell her to wear the same bra she wears under her tank tops during the summer. Also feel free to remind her of the courtesy call you gave her in which she said she is ok with strapless. FSIL can be a real pain in the a$$. Than if none of that works, buy her some duck tape and tell her to wrap those babies up.
