Has anyone had problems trying to get appointments to see the Thatched Cottage in Centerport? My friend had her wedding there and I fell in love with the hall. However, everytime I call to try and get an appt. I seem to get the runaround. The first time they told me to call back. Then I called again on Wednesday evening, they took my name and information and still have not gotten back to me! Has anyone else had any similar problems??? I love the hall but I am starting to wonder about the service they provide.....

I've heard nothing but great things about them. My friend was married there and dealt with Janet. Maybe call and ask for her...?

i've been having the same problem. eveytime i call they tell me to call back or they'll call me back, and they never got in touch with me.

honestly i called them 4 or 5 times and i still have never gotten a call back from them.

Wow! That is crazy... I guess it is not just me... I am going to try one more time... otherwise it won't be worth it.. Every other hall has been soo much more accomadating.. I will let you know if I have any luck!!

I would just give up! I had an appointment with them last month because I was coming in from Colorado to book my hall. Well they called me to reschedule and I explained that I couldn't because I would only be in NY for a couple of days. So at that point they said there was nothing they could do (not interested in my business I guess) Well since I just loved there website I tried again to get an appointment when I got to NY and someone said they would have someone call me back. Well the person who called me back was very rude and treated me like I was bothering them. They basically said only one person could show the place and she was out sick indefinitely and no one else could help me. Well at that point I decided I did not want irresponsible people like that in charge of my wedding. I booked the Port Jeff Country Club through Villa Lombardi's because they are taking over the catering there.

I am having my reception at the Thatched Cottage and they have been nothing but accomodating to me. You should ask to speak with Bob. He is my BM and every time I call him for yet another ridiculous question(my latest was how long is the table?, he answered my question in his usual manner(very friendly man.) ) I only live 10 minutes away from there and every time I have a question, I tell him I am coming by and he is more than willing to accomodate(so long as there is no event going on there). He is not exactly what I would call irresponsible. You should try him.

I called them to make an apt. and when I was speakinh with the man I asked how many they can accomodate. They told me that they can hold 300 people. Then a women called me back two days later to say that they could not accomodate us so she cancelled our apt.
