Procession Question

Procession Question

Just wondering how you ladies are lining up your procession... meaning what order are your BM's and Groomsmen walking in?

Height order?
Importance order? if this way, is the most important in front or towards the back of the line closer to the bride???

Everyone is asking me how I'm doing this and I have no idea which way is the proper way.... I was thinking of doing shortest to tallest to avoid hard feelings, but not sure if this is proper etiquette or something...

Height...from tallest to shortest.
Although sometimes I think that by the time my wedding gets here, I will only have one person in my bridal party.
Because some of my bridesmaids are getting on my nerves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever seen a processional where they go down in pairs? (i'm not doing it, just asking)

What do you mean? I am doing a procession where each BM is being escorted by a Groomsman... is that what you're asking? Excluding MOH of course!

yep thats what im asking.
FH and i were arguing about how they're going to walk down. He wanted them in pairs, i want them single. He's says thats the way their supposed to go, i said it's not a 'rule'.

I am doing height from shortest to tallest. I have been in BPs where a BM and GM enter together. I am not sure what I am doing at my wedding. I think that the ladies will walk in alone, but be escorted out by the GM.

i'm having the ladies walk alone for the procession and they'll be escorted out by the groomsmen. for the procession they're going in this order friend, SIL, sister (MOH). at the end they're going friend w/groom's brother and friend, SIL with her husband and BIL, and MOH with best man. this just makes the most sense to me, but i have a pretty small party so it's not too complicated for me :)

how about age order?

Am I the only one having my BM's escorted in by the Groomsmen??? OH BOY! Now I'm even more confused

Anyway, reallybehind... age order doesn't really work for me... I have an 11 year old who's taller than me, a 28 year old shorter than me.... I think it might look mismatched... thanks though

Both mothers had to light the tapers of the unity candle before any procession began and all this soft music was playing by our organist. Our Junior attendants walked in side by side and arm in arm, follow by our BM and a GM, and another BM and GM, and another BM and GM. The next was the MOH who walked alone while the BM stands next to the Groom as his right hand man. I'd group them in the closeness of our relationships of our friendships. I didn't put them in height order and one of our GM, hubby's younger brother is 6'.

Importance order or closeness order. They had the same titles except for the BM, MOH and Junior attendants.

Thanks... the way you did your procession is exactly the way I will be doing it... however... I think size order works best for me... I will have 8 pairs walking down! BM will be standing with John and MOH will walk alone...

Since you have a lot of people, its probably best to go down in pairs. Otherwise processional will take forever!
We're having 3 girls and 5 guys. So they'll go down solo. and recessional will be MOH & Best man. BM & 2 GM's. BM & 2 GM's.

I am having each BM being escorted by a GM except my MOH. I am having them line up in size order (shortest to tallest).
