Processional??

Processional??

So the weding is Saturday and my FH and I are confused about the processional.

I think the BMs should walk in with the GM (in pairs). He says that the GM should walk in first then have the BM walk in seperately (each one alone).

What is typically done? how should this go??

Thanks for the help!

Ive seen people do it 2 ways: either have the BM and GM walk up together or have the GM already up front and only have the girls walk up by themselves.

we had the Best man stand down at the end with the groom....the rest were in pairs and then my MOH walked down by herself. It was nice 'cause it separated the two of them from the crowd

I have a very small bridal party, 2 BM, 1 MOH, 1 jr BM, 2GM and 1best man. So what we are doing is having the best man go up after the groom. The rest of the bridal party will come in one at a time aletenating BM then GM. ending with MOH then ring bearer then me.

Everyone is different. Its really what you guys WANT to do. Some people do BMw/GM, others do the BMs alone w/GM standing up in front. We have a really uneven amount, i have 6 BMs, he has 10 GMs, so I think i'm having the BMan and Jr. BMan (his little brother) walk down together. Then two sets of BM/GM walk down together (1 of each), then 3 sets walk down with one BM/2 GM (one on each side) and then the MOH walk down alone before me.

Hi Date Twin!

You can do it any way you want. Usually the couple who runs your rehearsal will sort of try to get you to do it their way.

We are having the BM and groom at the altar. The GMs will walk in 2-by-2. The BMs will walk in alone, then the MOH, followed by bride + dad. For the recessional, all the girls will be escorted up the aisle by a GM.

I've also seen GMs at the front of the church with the groom and only the BMs walk down the aisle -- the GMs escort the BMs back up the aisle for the recessional.

I have also seen it (though VERY RARELY) with the GMs escorting the BMs down the aisle and back up the aisle for the recessional.

Personally, I prefer to be the only one escorted down the aisle that day - and want my BMs to walk alone.

It's a personal preference, though, and you should be able to do it however you want.

You could single out the bridal party also. I think it could be done both ways.
The way I had was - DH with Best Man then followed by BMs with GMs. The MOH walks by herself last. Follows the flower girl and ring boy then it's my dad and I.

This sounds really good..I think I will be doing this way also. I was having some confuse moments on this too. BTW: My brother will be walking me down as my dad is deceased. Therefore, who should walk my mom down??

I really LOVE the idea of having the four groomsman walk down the aisle 2 x2. thats a great idea! It doesn't take away from the BMs. I'll have to pass this one by him as well!!

(Kara...can you believe how close it is??)

To each his own - do it however you want. We had an odd # bridal party (4 GM and 5 BM), so I had all of the GM stand up front first w/ DH then all the girls walked down solo. I've also seen it in pairs, and with just the BM standing with the groom. All of these looked great - it's your wedding, just pick whatever works best for you!

Does your mom have any brothers? Or do you have anyone in your life that's significant to both you and your mom? If not, I've heard people have the Best man come around again and walk the mom down the aisle (my officiant also told me this too).

I thought usually the men are already up there with the FH. Then the BM come in alone and everyone walks out together. But do what you want. it's your day!!!

I think the GM walk in seperately from the BM for the processional, but walk together for the recessional.
