procrastinating over dress

procrastinating over dress

So I know I'm procrastinating as far as gowns go, seems like florist and dress is the only thing I've been putting off. My godmother wants to take me to little boutiques in Brooklyn where she lives, but I would rather go straight to the chains such as David's Bridal, Macy's...etc. We'll prob compromise and look at both, but does anyone have experience with small boutiques in Brooklyn? I've also read in previous year's forums about particular DB shops to avoid. Which one stands out as a winner?

Thanks ladies!

i went to one small boutique and then to kleinfelds, it was easy. lol and dont worry you have plenty of time! i ordered my dress in the middle of june, and it came in on monday.

no biggie! everyone just tries to rush you on ordering for a sale, its not mandatory.

I went to the Davids Bridal in Westbury and I had a good experience. But I went on a weekday so it wasnt busy. Going on a weekday to Davids Bridal makes a huge difference. I will not be using them to alter my dress because they have horrible reviews!!

I had a really bad experience at DB in Massapequa. When I was trying on my dresses, the consultant said to another consultant (and my mom/girls heard) 'ugh, how come I only get the people that wanna try on and don't buy?!' then proceeded to roll her eyes at me and ignore everything I said.

I got my dress at DB in Long Island City, Queens. Yudith, my consultant, was SPECTACULAR! I adore her!!

Good luck!

I looked at 'The White Gown' which is a small botique in brooklyn.

they had some lovely dresses, but they were overpriced. (I went to an Enzoani trunk show, and their 'special discount price' was the same as the regular price for the same dress at Paradise)

I was the only bride there though, so that was nice!

hth!!

It's on Northern Blvd in the 40s by the Toys R Us. I have an appt on October 9th there but I don't know with which consultant. I may call & see if I can request Yudith.
