Professional lighting at reception

I hadn't thought about it until a friend suggested getting someone in to do special lighting for the reception.

Has anyone done this?
Is it worth it?

I just so this post. Stef looked into this a bit and it is VERY expensive- in the thousands.
Of course I always tell my husband that I 'skrimped' because I didn't have a prof. lighting designer for the wedding

We looked into it, but it seemed too expensive for us.

Re: Professional lighting at reception

thanks for the info. I'm also debating if it's worth it because the reception room has a lot of light and if the reception is 7-11 pm - it will be bright in the room when people walk in (I think that's when you really notice it) If it's July - I think it will be light out until 8:15 or 8:30.

Maybe I am just trying to justify why I don't need this. How am I doing?
