I take alot of pics of Luke but I have yet to bring him for a professional sitting. Anyone have any experience with JCPenney, Picture People, or anywhere else you could recommend. I definitely dont want to spend a fortune and these places seem to have good prices but I don't know if one is better than the other or what. I went to Sears for info and it was kind of a scam. They have a package that's a really good price but it's only for the first shot that they take. Anything else you want ends up costing alot more. Weird right? It has to be the FIRST shot. Thank!

Re: Professional Pics of Baby
I went once to SEARS with my sister for the 'cousins' photo.
You can use those coupons, on yes, the first picture only. But its a great deal, under $10 for all those pictures. I just felt that they were WAYYYY HIGHH PRESSURE SALESSSSPEOPLE !!! I even said it to the lady. But poor thing was just doing her job. She sounded like a broken record as I answered 'no thanks' to all her questions.
They ask you a bazzillion times if you'd like to purchase it with this finish and that effect. Also they MAKE YOU take several shots, hoping (and most likely you will) fall in love with a few more. You WILL take more than that first shot.
So if youre strong minded and have a big mouth, you can go to Sears. My sister tries to stick to her guns about sticking with the coupon, but she usually falls in love with the other MUST TAKE shots and buys additionals.
Im not sure how other places do it. But Im sure that if theyre not high pressure sales, its because they already cost that 'magic price' that they want you to reach.
Ya never win !
Hope that helps !
Edited to add I know many other friends of ours that also go to Sears religiously. My sister goes about 10 times a year, and doesnt let the salespitch get to her..

I take Emma to Kiddie Kandids in Babies R Us. They are so good with her. They take great pics. I think its $10 or $15 a page ((1) 8x10, 9 wallets, etc.) They also have packages. Heres their website. Kiddie Kandids

With the coupons that Sears send out, for under $10, you get about (dont quote me) something like:
45 wallets 2 8X10 5 5X7 4 3X5
Its an outrageous deal. and depending, the coupon can be for 5.99 - 9.99

I took Patrick to Sears for 3,6,9 month & 1st year photos. (And of course Christmas) They will take 6 photos. Just make sure the FIRST one you say yes to is a GREAT photo!! The only reason I say this is because that will be your pkg photo. Just stick to your guns when they ask you if you want more. Just tell them no. The first time I was ****ered!! I almost ordered $150 worth of photos!! My cousin yelled at me!! So I called back & cancelled everything that wasn't included in the pkg!!

I took Paul to JCPenney's for Christmas pics. THey came out great, but I heard from Jeff's aunt that Penney's photos tend to yellow over time. So, I probably won't be going back there (thank goodness I didn't join their photo club!)
I have been told that Olan Mills studios take nice photos that won't yellow. My cousin has also used the BRU studio and she liked it and had no complaints.
I think the next time I take Paul for pro photos, they are going to be really pro - like Imagine Studios or something like that.
