Does anyone know approx. how much it would cost to have someone put up crown moulding? I'm thinking of getting it done in the dining room, living room, and master bedroom. They're average sized rooms. We haven't closed on our house yet but I want to get an idea of how much it will cost to figure it into our budget. Thanks!!

Re: Professionally Installed Crown Moulding
I dont know how much it will cost to have it installed but I do know that molding itself is very expensive. $3-$10 bucks a foot depending on what you want. We figured for my dining, living hallway and entrance way we were looking at least $1000 just for the moulding, no labor. Sorry I can't help more

Re: Professionally Installed Crown Moulding
The cheapest price I got quoted (I eventually hired them) was $700 for my bedroom. That was for both floor and ceiling molding. For my tiny powder room, they charged me $100 for the crown molding. This did not include the cost of the molding.
I love molding, so for me it was worth it. The rest of the house has molding all over. So I only needed to do these two rooms.

My husband does this for living, he could give you an approximate cost for the materials.

Re: Professionally Installed Crown Moulding
I think we blew something like $5,000 in moulding and hubby did it all himself. Of course he went nutso and put moulding around the doorbell chime box, the air conditioners, etc...

We did our LR, DR and bedroom too. It cost us about $1,000...but i think we got the floor molding too...don't ask...waste of money to me...but the crown molding looks awesome!

Re: Professionally Installed Crown Moulding
I think my parents paid some crazy amount like $3,000 just for labor. It was for a large space, though. They did a great job, though and the way they finished off the corners was unique. My FH and a contractor friend of his will be doing ours together.
