Program content...

After attending two weddings in the past two weeks, I`ve been seriously considering having both readings written out in the program so people can follow along if they choose - since it`s not always easy to hear/understand what`s being read. Has anyone else thought about doing this??

I'm trying to keep my program down to just one sheet front and back and that's been difficult. But I think it's a nice addition and will make the program a really nice souveniere to have the readings printed out. And I have seen it done before. Nice idea.

Program content...Yes I am definately doing that.

My first reader is my 15 yr old Godson. I am very happy that he wants to participate in our ceremony but not too sure about his public speaking skills. I think it will be helpful if everyone can follow along.

I think that's a great idea - I've never seen that before! I think it would be helpful and a nice addition to the traditional program. Now I have a question for all of you...Because I will be having a non-religious ceremony (or shall I say a combo interfaith, with both traditions),if we did 'readings' we would want them to be generic. I found a book (from Blue Mountain Arts) that has different poems and sayings about marriage. Do you think it's too 'way off' to use a couple of those instead?

I am having an interfaith weding as well. We are using a verse of wind beneath my wings as a reading and part of a children's picture book as one also.Do what you feel comfortable with. It is your day!!!!!!

I'm having a religious ceremony in the church and we are doing a reading from the bible AND a poem. I don't see anything wrong with it. And egreen is right, it's your day!
