Program Ettiquette

Program Ettiquette

Here's my situation. My parents are divorced and my dad is remarried. My mom is walking me down the aisle. My dad will be walking in with the processional at the Church with his wife whom I've never called my stepmother (even though technically she is) but called her by first name.

My question is, in my programs for the Church, obviously, instead of listing 'Parents of the Bride' I was going to put 'Father of the Bride' and across from it put Mr. and Mrs. Frank _____ (referring to my dad and his wife). Should I add something to 'Father of the Bride'? Should I be acknowledging his wife too? TIA.

I just went to a wedding wear it said Parents of the bride
Mr. Joseph Smith and Mrs. Jane Cook

It did not acknowledge either of the step-parents and their seemed to be no hard feelings.

If you want to, you could write
Mother of the Bride ......
Father of the Bride .....
Stepmother of the Bride ....

This way acknowledging your father's wife, clearly defining their roles in your life, and no hurt feelings.

The way you had it in your OP doesn't ring correctly : Father of the Bride : Mr. & Mrs. Frank ---

Do you need it to say any titles? Everyone will know who's who, won't they, by the order they come down the aisle and their names, so maybe just the names listed in order . . . might solve the problem and avoid having to come up with the titles

Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs.

etc., etc.
