but will they print out with the lines
i just want to be able to type on the right than on the left like a book

It shouldn't have lines. Do print preview and see. Maybe you have it set up to SHOW the lines on your screen??
Or maybe you can click on or highlight the lines and then go to Format > borders and shading... then make them 'no line' or clear...

There shouldnt be any lines.
you will first type the left side then the right
try it first on a plain piece of paper

Yea, Rita if you do columns in MS word, it won't print with lines
