program related questions

my cocktail hour and reception is in the same place as the ceremony and it immediately follows the ceremony- can i leave out the line stating that 'dinner and dancing' or whatever follows the ceremony?

i see in old posts that some people have their 1st and last names on the cover- has anyone just had their 1st names? that's what i was planning to do but i've always seen their full names only.

when you list the wedding party, is it appropriate to put the BMs and GMs names first, and then the parents? is it rude to put the name of the guy who is marrying us as the last name?

one last question- i have a bifold program- the 1st sheet will be made of gold paper that has our names and wedding date, etc and the back of the program will be the thank you. i'll have one ivory colored sheet in the middle - where i'll be using the front and back out of. what order should the pages go in?

i have 1 wedding party page, 1 overall explanation of the hindu ceremony, 1 explanation of the actual events of the ceremony, and 1 page for 'our day in history' and a little blurb of 'our history'.

what do you think? thanks!

Re: program related questions

I would probably leave out 'dinner and dancing' and just keep it as a ceremony program.

Re: 1st/last names on cover: Actually, I have seen more people just use their first names only on the cover of the programs so I think that would be fine.

Re: Listing of BP: I was planning on listing all of the ceremony participants first - priest, altar boys, readers, then our parents & then the BP but you could do the opposite as well.

Re: order of pages in program: I would probably do it in this order - 1) overall explanation of hindu ceremony (so they know what they're going to be seeing beforehand) 2) explanation of actual events of ceremony 3) Wedding party page 4) 'Our history' blurb (Your own personal history together is more important than the other events in history so I would put this before 'Our Day' in history 5) 'Our Day in History'
You could also reverse #'s 1 & 2.

Hope I helped!
