Program Wording

Hi Ladies,

I will be having a mixed ceremony, Catholic and Jewish. We will be signing a ketubah, breaking the glass and lighing a unity candle.

Anyone know how to word the program??

I also want to include a thank you to our friends and family...any suggestions??

thank you!!!

I'm having the same thing! (I'm Jewish & FH is Catholic). We will also be doing the same ceremony with traditions rom both faiths. I think the program should explain the Jewish faith and what will be done, along with what it symbolizes and then the Catholic faith and what the unity candle symbolizes. That way you get a blend of the 2 faiths, intertwined, which is also symbolic of the ceremony rituals.
I just anwered my own question cos I did not know how to word our programs either!

BTW - if you still did not get your Ketubah, got to -
www.ketubah.com
they have a free upgrade to a canvas until 8/31/12! There are some nice interfaith ketubahs!

It all depends on how serious you want your program to be. While the ceremony means a lot and the main event, we felt that we want the program to show a little more of 'us' in it, so we arent going to have a completely serious program.

Thank you, ladies! I will write the ceremony but explain the traditions minimally.

Haven't fully figured it out, but a while ago i found a wedding on offbeatbride.com that they titled their program 'So you are going to sit through a wedding', and another one that on the front page had 'Don't Panic' from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I was thinking of taking somethings from that and adapting it...
