Re: Programs

I didn't use a template-just did it in Word. I got heavy cardstock and changed the size of the paper to 5.5 x 8.5 so I could print 2 per page in landscape layout. FM me if you need more info.

Re: Programs

I'm actually creating my own templates using MS Word or PowerPoint, haven't decided yet. I'm using regular 8-1/2 x 11 size paper that fits in my printer since it's the easiest size for me to use. Set the page for landscape (horizontal) rather than portrait (vertical). I'm probably going to create several text boxes to fit the text into those.

The inside paper --- I bought light blue parchment paper from Staples (in the resume paper section).

The cover --- I went to AC Moore and ordered the shade of blue cardstock that I needed from the Scrapbooking section, size 8-1/2 x 11. I'll fold this in half and insert the pages into it.

I'll be printing the pages on both sides using my color laser printer, folding the sheets in half to make the booklets. As a sample before you even begin, take a few sheets of plain paper, fold them in half, and number the bottom of the pages just like you would do for a book. For example, a 4-page booklet would look like this: the first page would be 1, the second two pages would be 2-3, then the last would be 4, the back. Then you can figure out which text you want and where you want to place it. When you actually place the text into the pages on the computer, you'll see which pages are next to each other..... on the left will be 4, on the right 1. For the second set, it would be left page 2, right page 3. I'm hoping this make sense!!

I bought blue & silver ribbons from AC Moore during one of their crazy sales. I think each spool was $0.25. I plan to punch holes in the crease of each program, thread the ribbon through, and tie into a bow.

You can check out the DIY boards..... they have a lot of projects and links there. I think there may be a link for program templates.

Sounds good. What are you doing on the cover?

I'm using the template for programs in MS Publisher, and I'm using a 65lb cover paper (linen finish)

I created a monogram and I've been using different variations of it on different DIY projects. So our cover will have our monogram which has our names, last name initial, and wedding date, plus I'm thinking of adding 'the marriage celebration of...' or 'the marriage ceremony of...' or something like that. Not sure yet. Have to figure this out soon though!
