Programs....Groom's parents deceased....How to handle?
I'm hoping the collective wisdom of this board can help me figure this out... I'm getting married Friday - yes - in 4 days - and I'm making the programs for the church. Both of FH's parents are deceased. I'This raises two problems for the programs: (1) Usually you state the bride's parents and groom's parents in the program near where you list the bridal party, etc. What do I do about this? Just mine? His too? None? (2) At the end of the program, it is customary to thank parents, friends, and family. Of course, we can still thank family, but I'd like to be able to thank my parents - who have been awesome - without making a blunder because his are deceased. Any suggestions?
Thanks - any advice would be great!

I am sorry for his loss, I think it is important to include them in someway. Instead of thanking parents specifically maybe u can thank ur families? That way ur parents r included..Maybe you can say something about those who are not here with us to share the special day..

that is beyond sad ... perhaps ask future hubby what he thinks would be the best way to honor them?

OK, don't stress. Yes, def include his parents! They're still his parents even though they are not alive. You just say late xx and late xx.
On the back of the program, include a memorial poem or have FH write a couple sentences acknowledging his parents.
My Mom passed away and I would NEVER dream of not including her. She has earned that! On the back you can do something like this...
Although not here in the physical sense, mr x and mrs x, parents of xx (fh) are felt in spirit and in our hearts.
I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new I thought about you yesterday and days before that too, I think of you in silence I often speak your name All I have are memories and your picture in a frame Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart.

I would still list his parents right under where you list your parents. Living or not they're still his parents. I would write..
Grooms name - the late Mr. & Mrs. ____
Do a thank you page but maybe also do a rememberence page for his parents.

Re: Programs....Groom's parents deceased....How to handle?
we have the issue that both of our dad's are deceased so what we chose to do is
Mrs. Jane & the late Mr. John Doe
I know the Mr. is usually first but putting the 'late' before it made it seem like both of them had passed ...

you can always put..
Grooms Parents The late Mr. & Mrs.... so and so
Then on the Thank you page put a section
To those who can't be with us today...
then write a small thing to all people who are no longer living then I put
Especially Mr. & Mrs... so and so
Fh's mom has passed and we put this on the Thank you page.
