Progress update! trials, STDs, etc
I have been so bad about keeping up with the boards! I started grad school a couple months ago, and then I started working part time like 3 weeks ago, and that has pretty much occupied 150% of my time!!! that and trying to not get too cranky b/c I'm always exhausted and stressed, and trying to spend quality time w/ FH and the dogs... sometimes it's a little too much!
I was able to get home to LI a couple weekends ago, and I had a bunch of hair and m/u trials... it was pretty much my last chance to find someone, I figured, b/c people were already starting to book up, and then I wouldn't be home again til the holidays when it's too crazy to do wedding stuff anyway. ugh.. so i had 2 hair trials, one with this woman Emily from the Aveda Salon in Huntington, and the other one w/ Carolyn (from 'Sabrina & Carolyn'). My trial w/ Emily was just okay but I loved what Carolyn did. it was exactly what i wanted but didn't know how to articulate! she also used trial extensions in my hair and to my surprise, i actually really liked it!! so she's going to order extensions for me and dye them to match my hair color which is awesome. i mean i guess it would be cheaper if i did it myself, but sometimes i feel like why do you need to stress yourself out unnecessarily... its just one more thing to do that i don't need!!
then i had 2 makeup trials, one with Danielle Minnella, and one w/ Andrea from Lolalovesmakeup. They were both really nice, but I felt like Danielle really 'got' me. I want a really natural, not heavy look, and I feel like even though I kept saying that and people would pretend to understand, they really didn't. Danielle did her thing, and then when i looked in the mirror, I was so pleasantly surprised I almost wanted to cry! She totally got it. The only thing was that I have kinda oily skin and she used moisturizer, which made me kinda shiny, which is a problem issue for me in pics anyway... so on the day of, she said she would use a mattifier.
lets see what else... we finally got out save the dates out!!! it was definitely a labor of love, but we were finally able to agree on a design that was both personal, fun, and classy all at once. getting all the addresses from our families was definitely challenging. we did the main mailing already, but i'm still getting some addresses in, which is annoying, but good, b/c we need more people. i'm worried that we're not going to make our guarantee, but we always kinda knew that.
i think that's about it for now... i keep having wedding nightmares, even though the wedding is still like 7.5 months away! its scary... i guess i just know what things i need to focus on before the wedding gets close. thank god school breaks about a month before my wedding. that will be key!!
oh, we're also doing our engagement shoot w/ Millimeter Photography the Sunday of T-day weekend!! I'm soooo excited!!!!! I can't wait to work w/ them!
