PROMISE TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF NOW ALL THE WAY THRU 2004
LOVE/RELATIONSHIPS:
Be the kind of person you always
wanted your parents to be.
LEADERSHIP/SUCCESS:
Save the world from unfulfilled potential.
MOTIVATION/INSPIRATION:
Like water which can clearly mirror the sky and
the trees only so long as its surface is undisturbed,
the mind can only reflect the true image of the Self
when it is tranquil and wholly relaxed.

This Holiday Season and Everyday, The most
important person to give to is...YOU!
One of the keys to giving is making sure you
are one of the recipients!
Giving to yourself.
It's not selfish or self indulgent,it's vital
to being able to give to others.
People usually get so caught up in life that they
forget about the most important thing: themselves.
We get so busy in the day-to-day dealings of work
and life that we forget that it's ok to be selfish
once and a while and take care of ourselves.
Mothers in particular are guilty of this. Giving
all they have to their kids (and others) and having
nothing left to give to the person in the mirror.
What people need to realize is that when you give
to yourself, take time for yourself, you are better
equipped to deal with everything and everyone else.
You can treat your kids better if you have some time
on your own...you get along better with your spouse,
your friends, your co-workers when you feel good,
you perform better in every area of you life
and when you're in the right frame of mind,
you can give more to all of them!
So do yourself a favor this holiday season and
everyday in 2004. Pick something that is just for
you and do it, daily, weekly, monthly(depending
on what you've chosen). Give this gift to yourself
and those around you.
Here's a few ideas of great gifts to give yourself:
- Go for a walk to clear your mind
- Take three very deep breaths
- Window shop
- Enjoy a cup of your favorite tea
- Take a bubble bath
- Light a candle and turn off all the
lights and sit still
- Sit in your car put in your favourite music
and close your eyes
- Do something you've always wanted to do,
but have put off 'for when you have time'
(you have to make the time)
- Take your lunch break instead of working
through it. And go outside.
- Read a book
- Take a course
- Schedule a massage
- Talk to God
- Take a nap
- Watch a favorite old movie
- Exercise - the ultimate gift to yourself
- Learn to say 'NO' once in a while when you
don't want to do something (they will get
over it trust me).
Make it a habit. If you have a tendency to get
bogged down with appointments and errands for
everyone else, make yourself an appointment that
you can't break.
You do it for all the other people in your life
(boss, spouse, kids etc..) why not make yourself
the highest priority for a change?
The most important part is not the 'what' it's
the 'do'. No one else will do it for you.
You need to make yourself the priority, and
everything else will go smoother and life can
be that much better, for you and those around you..
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some of my
favourite music to go and listen to![]()
