My first name is technically 2 names (think 'mary ann') without any middle name. Originally to create name symmetry I thought we could write my full first name and FH's first and middle names. Now that we've received the proofs his name looks very long. I'm going the shallow route, which version is more aesthetically pleasing? Sadly, FH is not much help, 'they're both nice,' and it doesn't matter to him whether or not his middle name is included. Any and all input is welcome - TIA!
im having the same issue in a way...i have a middle name and my fi doesnt! but i want to still have mine on there..not sure how it will look!

i think they both look great... it just comes down to whether you want his middle name on there or not...

Re: proof dilemna - poll & pics
I think what's throwing me off, honestly, is the 'Together with our parents' listed first - without listing their names at all... and then listing your names, which kind of look like your parents' names (which I'm sure people who know you will know it's not).
Is there room enough to list your parents' names? Or is there a reason you didn't do that?
If you listed the last names with your parents' names, you can just list your FH's and your first and middle names, and it would look fine.
So, just
Kara Kim
and
Michael Francis
JMHO.

I say go with the middle name. It doesn't look too long to me. I don't think you have to include your parents names, I have seen invitations without that.

maybe 'together with their parents' can come after your names?
I just thought it sounded weird to start an invitation with that. But I haven't done invitations yet, so I may be totally wrong about this.

Okay, so I definitely agree the middle name should stay but you've got me thinking, does this look better?

It's such a pretty church! FH's grandfather helped build it, his mom went to school there, his parents were married there, he and his 2 brothers were baptized there and they all went to elementary school there... I love that hey have a family history there. His family all moved away 10 years ago so they are thrilled we're getting married at St Kilian's. They haven't seen it since the renovation!

Ooooooh! I definitely like that better!!! I hope you don't mind me butting in!
Also... I also thought I read that formal invitations are supposed to be in the third person. So, 'together with their parents' instead of 'our'. But then you have to change 'our wedding' to 'their wedding'.
I'll google it... or maybe another bride here knows.
(am I a pain in the a$$, or what? lol)

Re: proof dilemna - poll & pics
yeah...
Here it is:
The wording of a formal wedding invitation is written in the third person, and the date and time are written out in full. A typical example might read:
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jacobs
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Cynthia Lynn
to
Mr. Carl Everhart
Saturday, the eleventh of February
at ten o'clock
St. Jude's Church
Concord, New Hampshire

I found this, too:
Cheryl Rae Walker and Mr. Timothy Earle Jones together with their parents invite you to share their joy at their wedding Etc.

if you're including your middle name, add his as well. why would you leave it out?
