proofs on cd

do most photographers give you a copy of your proofs on a disc so that you can make your own copies of pictures for family/friends?

most do...but there are still many that don't..

having all of our images was def important to us so we didn't even look at photogs that didn't give you all the pics.

some do or if not they post it on their site with your own username and password and you can view it thru their website. You can share the password with friends and family and they can view it too for up 1 year in most cases.

i think having proofs on a cd is a great idea cuz like u said, you can print whatever u want without paying for it later.

A lot of photographers give you a high resolution dvd of the pics

You have to make sure it's in your contract. This was very important to me b/c I wanted the ability to make my own prints.

Not all do, but make sure you book somone that gives you rights to your proofs and the cds. If not, you will have to pay mega $$$$$ everytime you want a print out or an enlargement.

not only do you need to ask if you get the disc, you must make sure it is the high res DVD otherwise you will not be able to make prints. Some are just for viewing on the computer. These photographers want to nickle and dime you for everything. Some will only release the disc after a few years. there are many that will give you the disc.

Ours didn't include the disk,but we were able to purchase it separately.

some will give you the cd or dvd easily and yes make sure it's high res otherwise you will not be able to print good quality photos from it.

some don't at all; some make you wait 6 mos to a year to release them.

and some make you pay extra depending on what you order!!! if you don't order enough things the price for the proofs will compensate instead. those guys we went elsewhere. there are enough reasonable photogs that you don't need to deal with that nonsense.
