Proper Thank You to use

Proper Thank You to use

We had thank you notes printed to match our invitations but they have both our first names and what will be my married name on them. Do I still use those to send to people that send us wedding gifts before the wedding?

Nobody? I already used one not thinking but should I be using different ones instead?

No, I didn't use mine until after I was married.

I think they are to be used after the wedding.

I used them for our early gifts - the gift is for both of you

Eternity,

Did yours have your new last name on them?

As long as your last name or last initial is not on the card then you can use it.
I had cards like that made up as well as used them for e-gifts and wedding gifts.

My cards have what will be my last name on them

If it has your new last name, then proper etiquette is no. I would buy a few generic thank you's for the presents you receive before the wedding.

That is what I thought! I didn't even think about it when I wrote one out yesterday but as I was getting ready to write one to his godmother I realized it. I still have a few from my shower left & as long as they didn't come to the shower then I'm ok.

It has both our first names and married last name. For engagement/shower gifts I used generic ones, but anything intended as a wedding gift I am using the ones w/both our names

ok but I too think it is better to save those for when that is my last name so I think that is what I will do
