Does anyone know the proper way to invite sworn personnel for a Police Department. For instance, Cheif, Superintendents, Deputies, Captains, Etc.
* How would you word the outer envelope?
Would I do this: Chief & Mrs. John Doe, Superintendent & Mrs. John Doe, etc.
* How would you word the inner envelope?
Would I do: John & Jane OR Cheif & Jane, Superintendent & Jane, etc
* If I'm inviting someone from work that's a female with her husband, how do I word the outer envelope?
Would I do: Mr. & Mrs. Jane Doe OR is it still the husbands name
*PLUS what if the sworn personnel is a female?
Would I do: Captain Jane Doe & Mr. John Doe OR Captain & Mr. Jane Doe
Sorry so many questions but I'm really lost and I want to make sure I use the proper etiquette.
Thank you

Re: Proper way to address Police Personnel
I don't think they get anything special. Maybe if they were the Police Commissioner, like Ray Kelly is Commissioner Kelly. But captains...my uncle is a captain and he's just Mr. XYZ.

Re: Proper way to address Police Personnel
Agreed, both of my parents are police officers and they are always addressed as Mr & Mrs. The formal title of their position is only used at work, as far as I know. HTH!

Re: Proper way to address Police Personnel
always just mr. and mrs. I invited many of my co-workers, and didn't write chief or deputy chief etc.
