pros & cons having a weddin in october rather than june?

which would u perfer- i asked this b4- but now the only thing is the sunlight- since the reception will start at 7:30 & will not get use of the water view or outdoor cocktail-

They are both nice months for a wedding. My friend got married the last weekend in September and had an outdoor cocktail hour so it all depends on time and weather.

Pick what works best for you!

we went through something similar, we debated b/w august and november. we went with august for a few reasons, yes it was hot, but there was no chance of snow. novembers weather is really unpredictable as far as snow and rain.

good luck with whatever you choose

In october the colors are so beautiful, you can do so many fall themes. in june it will be too hot....my opinion

I am an oct. bride, but given a choice I would rather have a june wedding. I think june is usually more money but if you can afford either go with whatever you want. The early sunset is going to be a pain for my Oct. 20 wedding. Good luck with your choice

i'm an october bride, so i'm a little partial. in this part of the country, you have the beautiful change of colors. i chose early october so as to get better odds on weather and daylight time. i went so far as to look into the farmers almanac to pick my best chances for a good saturday.

I was a June bride, so i'm partial. But, October was a month we did consider to get married. I Love Fall!! But, having more daylight for the cocktail hour was definitely one of the reasons we chose June.
My sis got married in Oct and it was a bit chilly, but Beautiful. It's really what you both want.
What ever you choose will be Great, because your getting Married!!!

wasn't there some thing out there about changing the whole switching the clock thing?? I love fall but if you're going to be at CLM, I'd say do June

I'm an Ocotber bride, so obviously biased toward that month. We honestly never considered June at all - for us it was a choice between September and October. We chose October for a few reasons, finances, my b-day is in September, and the potential for beautiful fall foliage even though we picked early October.

i think the weather could be hit or miss both months. october could be rainy and chilly or it could be gorgeous. i remember looking at our hall last year on halloween weekend and it was warm and gorgeous. equally, june could be warm and beautiful or sweltering. FH HATES the heat though and fall's my favorite time of year. not to mention i'd much rather be a little chilly than all sweaty
october could be touchy though with a honeymoon, as it's hurricane season.

I am Oct. bride so I am partial to Oct. I just dont like the heat so a summer month wasnt even an option. I wanted Feb and FH said NO WAY.
I love the fall, the colors, and the crisp air.
But it is your day, do what will make you the most happy!

I was June bride, so I say October, b/c I would love to plan a fall wedding!! I love summer, so I got married in June. June is peak season so prices go up, and even fittings are hard to come by since you are competing with other brides and proms. How about September?? End of September you still get great colors, but it's before Daylight savings.

FH and I love the fall. Both my sisters' had a summer wedding and we wanted something different. I am doing fall colors with alittle bit of a fall theme. I too chose early october to get a better odds on weather and daylight time.

I am happy with my decision and I don't regret the month at all JMO.

I agree. We attended an e-party in October at CLM and it was FREEZING. They had the A/C pumping and it was cold and rainy outside...everyone crowded around the small fireplace to try to keep from freezing.

I am and will be June Bride...my RH price did not differ that Oct.....i chose June because its the longest day of the year in the summer around June 21st-June 23rd so its daylight until like 9:00 so the view we are paying for....people can appreciate it more...what if you try for a late Sept...i would suggest doing it before daylight savings time ends
