are you doing unity candle as well?

im jewish and Fh is catholic but the decision of the unity candle has come up. my family finds it offensive and his super religous parents dont really need it. we just spoke to a deacon over the weekend and he stated that the unity candle has no religous symbolism and its just a made up for telelvision thing. if you like what is stands for then do it, but there is no releigous symbolism attached to it.
