puerto vallerto mexico or costa rica in august???

im prob spelling is wrong lol but which one should we go to?? i think its rainy season in both of these places but its the only places we're both interested and from what i read it pours for a little and the sun comes back out...does any one know the weather or either of these places in august? or have any info on these places for me?

we love how theres beaches and rain forest in both of these places..any suggestions where to stay?
