As some of you know I have been laid-up with a pretty bad pulled left thigh muscles, and I have NO idea how I hurt myself either. Anyway how long do these usually take to heal? Also, my mom said she suffered with really bad muscle cramps and charlie horses in her legs throughout her pregnancy with me. Just great! Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: Pulled Muscle
I know this can be pretty common durring pregnancy. I tend to get charlie horses in my legs especially in the mornings...just try to make sure that you don't point your toes when you stretch, flex your feet up. And you should do that when you feel a cramp coming on too, it helps to stretch out your muscles. This has helped me a lot.
Good luck.

Re: Pulled Muscle
I'm sorry Michele.. I havent ever experienced that before for so long. Would warm compresses help? Maybe even a heating pad? Have you talked to a doctor? Hope you feel better soon

Re: Pulled Muscle
I have been doing moist heat, ice packs and mineral ice patches since Friday. I happen to have a midwife appt. on Friday morning and she said I had deep tissue swelling and something was pulled so to stay off of it. But I am bored crazy! At least the worst pain is gone now but I am so worried that this will continue throughout the pregnancy. I cannot take 3 trains to work when I cannot even sit in a chair for 20 minutes without pain.

Re: Pulled Muscle
And just when it feels completly better is when you should STILL stay off of it for a few extra days..

Re: Pulled Muscle
For cramping in the feet and legs, eat a banana a day. For all else, call the doctor and see what he/she says.
