pump

Has anyone used this pump? I have never heard the name 'Whittlestone' before...

It looks nice since there is a soft foam breast cup. But I was wondering if anyone had any opinions...

Re: pump

I'm going to be purchasing a pump soon & asked my LC which she recommended for full time working mom's.

She recommended the Medela Pump In Style. Its also a double pump & will do the job in about 15 min. I've never heard of this one, though.

Good luck!

I have never heard of it either. Maybe do a post on a BF website

I've heard a lot of good things about the Medela Pump In Style one, but I was just wondering about this one. But I'll probably stick with what everyone is suggesting... the Medela pump.

I would wait until after the baby and you start BF'd. I don't think you can return breast pumps

Re: pump

Good point Stacy! I would also wait to buy a pump.

Here's my (albeit limited) experience with pumping so far:

When Maria was first born, I did not pump at all, to ensure proper latching on techniques. I was afraid that giving her a bottle too soon would discourage her from wanting to nurse, since its much easier to take milk from a bottle than from the breast. (Even the slowest nipples are so fast, compared to me!)

When she was about 4 weeks old, I sent DH out to buy the Advent Isis pump. Its a little, inexpensive, manual pump which is good for occasional pumping. that's when I introduced a bottle. She did fine going back and forth between bottle and breast. I still use it b/c I'm only pumping about every 3 days or so.

Now, (sadly!) I'm looking ahead to going back to work full time. I want to start with the new pump ASAP so I can build up a supply so there won't be any problems. I'll still nurse her in the mornings, late afternoon & night, but she'll be away from me during most of the daytime.

Let us know what you find out about this other pump!

Re: pump

I went on breatfeed.com to see if anyone had information on this pump… it appears that a couple of other mothers were questioning this pump and apparently it isn’t good at all. I’ll let you know if I hear anything good/bad…
