Punta Cana DR Honeymoon

anyone been to the excellence or the iberostar grand bavaro??

We went to the Excellence and LOVED it there!!!!!! All the restaurants were great and the resort itself was just great as well as the staff

I went to Excellence in DR in Nov, not for a honeymoon but we had an awesome time. Everything was great, food, service, entertainment. No the only thing you would need extra money for is if you do any excursions.

I went there for my HM in October and had a great time! I spent most of my time at the pool, beach and spa. We also did ziplining and horse back riding. What was really cool is that we got to do a honeymoon photo shoot around the hotel and the beach which was amazing (the hotel offers this)!! The staff is is friendly and the food is good but there are some restaruatnts I liked better than others. HTH

OMG Loved it at Excellence Punta Cana!!
We were there last July and got engaged there!!
The resort is amazing, staff is awesome, the pool is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!
best vacation EVER!
We had a basic room, no extras and had a great clean room with a balcony and had just the best most romantic time ever!

I dont think its worth it?

also girls that went in hurrican season-did you get insurance and if so through who?

also does the hotel offer the excursions or you have to go outside to book?

I also got engaged at the Excellence Punta Cana! What an amazing trip and exciting time.
We did do the excellence club and it honestly isn't really necessary. My FH and I always do the things that are above and beyond though. I guess we like feeling special, I don't know. Haha. Then again, I'm not exactly sure what you get if you don't go with it either..
If you usually enjoy the pool, I must recommend that you go with a walk-out room though. FH and I love these! Its nice to just walk out of your room to your little porch area and be right by the pool.
Also, definitely go to at least a few of the shows there. Even if its not typically your style, its a lot of fun because you're out of your element.
The hotel does assist you with excursions if you'd like. One guy is always walking around trying to get you to ride horses though, so be honest with him if you're NOT interested.
Lastly, the transportation options from the airport are a little sketchy, so I'd recommend using the hotel's people and arranging for this ahead of time. Don't go with any driver unless he has your name on his paper.
