At the shelter , we just got in about 8 dogs and a pig. There was a pet store in Queens that was badly abusing their dogs- I don't know all the details, but we wound up with 8 dogs. These dogs are all under a year old, but are all over 7 months. They have never known human love and yet all they want is to be held and cuddled. 3 of the dogs are extremely sick and are at the vet, so as of now, they will not be available for adoption. The other dogs we have are a male toy Pomerainian ( alittle teddy bear), A female Chinese Crested (beautiful blk/wht), 2 chinese crested with full body hair, and a cocker spaniel. All of these pups need homes - good homes. These dogs have alread seen alot of abuse in their lives and they have spent everyday second of their lives in a cage - alone. Please send this to everyone you think might be interstead. Many people think you cannot get Pure bred puppies at a shelter - well we have eight.
E-mail if you want anymore information.
Thanks, Michelle
PS - This is just another example of why you should not buy your dogs from pet stores.

Re: Puppies for Adoption
Would you mind telling me which shelter so I can cross-post this on a local Chinese Crested web forum?
Thanks!

Re: Puppies for Adoption
The Rescue group is called Lucky Fund and they work out of Animal Tailz Pet store on Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage. It is still a rescue group, but the Founder of the Rescue group has bought into the Pet Store - so he had a place to keep and show his rescue dogs. It is actually a great idea, I think it helps open up alot of peoples minds about adoption. People can see what great dogs and puppies need homes and that they are the same dogs and puppies you could buy. The website is www.luckyfund.org ,but unfortunately their website is not updated with current pictures.
