Purpose of a Aisle Runner

I've getting married in a church. I keep reading about a aisle runner, but not sure if it's something I need. Any pictures I can see?

If you go to EliteAffairsllc.com there are photos of custom made aisle runners. I think they are usually used in locations where you need to create a pathway that isn't really there. LIke for example a garden. If you are getting married in a church I don't think you really need one.

not sure if you are looking to specifically have a 'custom' isle runner. .. But usually your limo company will provide you with a white isle runner and it should be included in their package.

I don't think they're necessary at all. My mother actually asked me if I wanted one, I said no it was a waste of money, then she offered to buy it for me, and I still told her no. I personally think they're a little tacky looking, at least in a church. In an outdoor ceremony if it's that or grass/sand/dirt...then it becomes necessary.

I don't think it's necessary - just another thing to possibly trip on!

i do actually see the point of it in a church. my church is giving me and FH one. the floor of the church is marble and it gives some traction to reduce the chance of me falling in my new shoes.

It is totally unnecessary imo. If you love it, you should have it, but if you are indifferent, there is no need for it, even in an outdoor ceremony. My ceremony was outdoors, and there was one, and I actually didn't want it there -- I wanted rose petals thrown on the pathway instead, but the florist messed it up -- in the end, it really didn't matter!

It all depends on the floor you will be walking down.. I think it can be unnecessary expense and i know that my church dosnt allow them anyway, They have carpetd runway. So check with your church 1st Hth

Definitely check with your church. My church doesn't allow a runner or anything to be dropped inside the church (like flower petals). Its all considered a safety / trip hazard.

I didn't have one-we got married at the RH and there was a brick walkway so we didn't need one. My friend just got married in a church and the limo driver told us that the one they had wouldn't fit in the church's aisle so she didn't use one either. Maybe you can find out from your church what they do and/or get measurements.

Our church is encouraging us to get one but we have to have a 120ft aisle runner. I won a free one last night but its only for 75ft.

My church actually frowns upon them because people trip and they think pics come out better without...so we aren't having one...

The carpeting in my church is red ... so it will clash with my bp colors if I don't have one. But I didn't really want one in the first place however my mom and FMIL said that they also help keep your dress clean
