I have a girl friend that has been dating her boyfriend for a few years. I am very good friends with the both of them (a little more towards her) and known both for a long time. They don't live together. What should I do about addressing the envelope? I am sending the invite to her.
A. Jane Doe & Guest B. Jane Doe & John Smith or C. Send them separate invites

Re: Put & Guest or their name
outside envelope put just her name inside put both names
only have one envelope - it works to put both names on the envelope make sure the first person is the address you are sending it too

Re: Put & Guest or their name
I think if the person has been dating someone for a long time and you know them then both names-much more personal

I agree. If they lived together than I would put both names on the outside envelope.

Re: Put & Guest or their name
I think if they are dating for a year or longer, and especially if you are freindly with him, it is only right to address the one envelope to Jane Doe and John Smith. I think it is insulting otherwise. My FH always says he doesn't care if his name is on the invite, but we got an invitation for one of his friends weddings, and me and FH were dating 2 1/2 years and we hung out with the couple every weekend, and I was not on the invitation. I was very insulted.

Re: Put & Guest or their name
are they just dating or do they live together? according to 'etiquette' aka-my wedding organizer...an unmarried couple living together should be addressed as follows
Ms. Jane Doe Mr. John Smith 123 Street Anytown, USA
with the inner envelope : Jane & John
but if they are not living together it should be just addressed to the friend on the outside and have both their first names on the inner envelope

Re: Put & Guest or their name
This is what I did but I had an inner & outer envelope. ON the outer I put only couples that lived together or were engaged (Ex: Mr. John Doe & Ms. Jane Doe). If they weren't any of the above I put 1 name on the outer & put both first names on the inner.
If they have been together for awhile & you want to put both their names on the envelope then do it.
