Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites

I personally wouldn't. Then people will think you started late. Not that that should matter either. I would just ask family and friends to spread the word about the ceremony spot being in a hard spot to find.

Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
its a good idea so that everybody will be there on time
Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
I plan on putting 5:30pm on mine and it will actually start @ 6pm.
Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
I put 5pm on mine and it doesnt start until 6pm. I just know how my people are so that is why i put an hour ealrlier. Besides my guet can arrive at 5pm and have wine.

Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
We did a half hour earlier, which was what JT suggested anyway.
Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
We're not...I'd be pretty pissed off if someone ever sent me an invite w/a time that's earlier...I don't like being 'lied' to - we're adults....
Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
I wouldn't put an earlier time on there either, becuase there are actually people out there on time (which is usually a few minutes before the ceremony actually begins anyway) so by claiming to start it 15-30 mins earlier, you may have people there WAY early, which would kinda anger me, especially if its a friday wedding and you have to leave work early or something.
Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
We didn't, we put 2:30 and I was walking down the aisle by 2:35.....also check with where you are having the ceremony if you do that to make sure nothing is finishing up before you....since if you put an earlier time, some people will get there even before that since they think that's the start time. I wanted to start a little late anyway but it didn't happen that way.

Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
The last two weddings I attended didn't start the ceremony until 30+ minutes later!

I think it depend where you are having your ceremony. If you are having it at a place then that might be a good idea but if you are having it at a church it might not especially if there is something going on in the church before your wedding. I didn't put an earlier time & everyone was there before I made my grand entrance. Also there is always going to be people that are late no matter what time you put. Also it might make people not come to the church because they know they can't make it by the time you put but would be able to make it at the 'real time'.

We put 3:30 on the invites, but the ceremony didn't start till 5:00pm. People still showed up late.
Re: Putting an earlier ceremony time on invites
I did it - my invite says noon - very few people know that the ceremony is at 12:30. I did it because some people in FHs family are chronically late.
