Q about Carlyle on the Green

Q about Carlyle on the Green

FH and I want to go look at Carlyle on the Green, but we're concered it might be out of our budget. I don't want to go see it if it's too much, because I'm pretty sure we'll fall in love with it and I don't want to completely blow our budget.

On to my question...Is there anyone who has been there recently and wouldn't mind sharing the pricing they got? If you'd prefer to FM the info, that's fine by me. Oh, we're planning on a Sunday wedding, if that helps.

TIA, ladies!

I threw out my pricing, but for a July Saturday afternoon wedding, the pricing was around $85 per head plus tax and gratuity. They charge for valets though also, and I can't remember what that is.

I remember they were helpful. Why don't you call and ask for a range for your day/time of day? The may hesitate, but at least you can see if it's in the ballpark. Point out that you don't want to waste their time. Only one reception site refused to give me any clue of their costs when I was looking.

Whoa! That's way more than I was quoted. Although we were also looking at their smaller room. It was okay, but not nearly as nice as the large room, and kind of dark. We didn't go with it for that reason.

What smaller room? Don't they only do one event at a time? Do you mean the room where the have the indoor ceremonies?

$1000 to have your ceremony there - you have to pay extra for valets. I was quoted $100 pp for afternoon, minimum of 125 people on a Sunday afternoon. The banquet manager (I think her name is Sue) is willing to work on the price.
Good luck

That's what we were quoted when we booked last November. But, for the high season April-October.....they come down a bit in the off-season...

I think it's $125 per valet....how many you need depends on the size of your wedding...Sat night's there have a 200 person minimum.

I called there last week to get pricing for the Sunday of Labor Day weekend 2007 and was quoted $185 for evening, minimum guarantee of 200 and $145 for afternoon, minimum guarantee of 150. Way out of my price range and I only plan on having 100 people.

That sounds about right.. I was quoted kind of high also, but I was able to deal a bit. It came down to Carlyle and Carltun, and my BM really didn't want me going with Carltun! lol.. So it worked in my favor

They will do two events there at the same time (despite their advertising). There was a wedding scheduled for the big room for the same day/time we were looking at.

It's a smallish room facing the front of the building near the area where they have the cocktail hour. I can't remember the name of the room, if there was one.

I'm a little annoyed about this and about the valet parking- why is it in their ads they say valet parking but we have to pay= as if we aren't paying enough already!

Re: Q about Carlyle on the Green

Hi Bride2005..
I've seen the ad where they mention valet parking and i just took it to mean they offer it, not that its included in the cost. Most other places charge you extra for valet parking as well, so i didn't think it was that out of the ordinary. I do agree that its slightly misleading that they make mention of it at all because its obviously caused lots of people to assume its included.

We're having our ceremony in the smaller room and then the reception in the larger room and honestly I really can't imagine anyone else being able to be there at the same time.
I can see them booking another small function perhaps that goes on in the small room while the larger one is used for a reception .. but not another wedding. There's only one bridal suite to use so how could they!
No matter what, the place is beautiful and i've only had nice experiences dealing with everyone there. They were really accomodating with our price range as well. If we were having our wedding in the summer, there's no way we could afford to have it there though!

Re: Q about Carlyle on the Green

we asked them about the valets when we finalized our menu. we said for every holiday you list that you have them but then they are xtra. they said they cover it for the hoidays at the oak room.

they suggested we have 7 and i said no way. i don't even want the 6 that they said we need to have. no way they can park or run 6 cars at a time, but with 200 people or more that is what we have to do. it's just a waste because they only really work for like an hour to an hour and a half.
