q about centerpiece holders

Did anyone use (or will use) a centerpiece holder that is like a bowl/pedestal that is make of plastic but is either gold or silver? A florist I am going to see in a few weeks (saw him in July, going back in few weeks to see a centerpiece he will do for me) and on the phone he said he had those sorts of bowls/pedestals. I dunno. Sounds sorta cheezy to me. Are they? I went to another florist and she had actual glass pedestals (these are not very high at all, I just didn't want low centerpieces that practically sit right on the table) and she gave me a great price.


So my overall question is if you used those plastic silver or gold bowls, how did they look - real? fake?
