Q for girls getting married in a church..

1. Are you tipping the priest ? (Sorry if I already asked this).

2. When does someone hand out the things that you are going to throw (rice, birdseed, petals)? It's after the ceremony right?

our priest is a family friend so we are giving him a amex gift card at the RD with a book about trains he loves trains

we are having the bubbles handed out as the people are walking out of the church - I am guessing we are going to ask some cousins to do that or maybe the doc

1. We are giving the priest a gift certificate to a local restaurant. He is really doing us a big favor by marrying us in Chruch, since FH is not confirmed.

2. My cousins will be waiting outside the Church doors & will hand everyone the organza bags of bird seed as they leave after the receiving line.

yep we are giving the reverend a gift of maybe 250.

Catholic priests aren't supposed to take $ for marrying you b/c it's a sacrament - so technically they should turn down the tip.

Not sure what we're going to throw (if anything), or just have bubbles, but either way we'll put them in baskets at the end of the aisle for people to grab on their way out. OR we might have someone hand them out with the programs. I've seen it done both ways.

Also - we are having bubbles and will have my cousin's hand them out after the ceremony....my parents or another relative will probably bring them to the church the day of...not sure though
