Q for Jewish brides re: Program wording -- PLEASE HELP!
I didn't want to hijack the other thread, but I need some advice! Our program has a small description of the different aspects of a Jewish wedding, and I'd like to include something about the Yichud (basically where the bride/groom go into a private room for a few min after the ceremony) but I really don't know how to word it.
I originally had:
The Yichud
the yichud (seclusion) takes place immediately following the ceremony. jennifer and scott will retreat to a private room to spend their first moments alone as husband and wife.
However, when FH saw a draft of our program he started cracking up and said it looks like we're announcing to our guests that we're going into the other room to have sex.![]()
yes, apparently that's what it was traditionally for, but I need a better way to phrase this otherwise FH wants it cut.
Anyone?![]()

ETA: We are an interfaith marriage so we can't expect most of our guests to be used to this
Edit x2: I found something else on the internet and tweaked it to this.... is this better?
