Q of the day - do we have one yet?

Q of the day - do we have one yet?

If so, this is Q number 2.

Is there a particular CD that really, really reminds you of a certain time in your life? What is it?

For me ... I've been thinking about this a lot this week, because I just uploaded some new stuff to my iPod and it sent me back a few years

Barenaked Ladies' 'Born on a Pirate Ship' reminds me of my junior year in college, second semester - I had just moved in with a new roommate who I had a blast with. I borrowed the album from a guy in a fraternity I was hanging out with ... and my roommate and I listened to it a lot. Every time I hear it, I think of us in our room dancin.

And I am currently listening to 'Feeling Strangely Fine' by Semisonic - the cd with 'closing time' on it - this one reminds me of senior year, when i was dating this guy at college but had met a guy on xmas break who i was falling for. (i didn't cheat, just became friends with him and then broke up with the guy I was dating to see the new guy) He introduced me to allll this great music, including semisonic, and every song on here reminds me of him and the fun time we had getting to know each other.

our time in eden by 10,000 maniacs is probably the hardest album for me to listen to, even though i love it and will still listen through it every now and again. when my mom died, it was the only album i listened to, and there are songs on there where the words made me think so much of my mom. it's a beautiful album, but i still get emotional.

on the fun side of things, anytime i hear songs from slippery when wet, i go right back to 6th grade, which was one of the most fun years in school for me.

OMG w/o a doubt. There are so many mixed cd's that I have from college right through today. When I play them I can almost feel where I was and what was going on around me at that time in my life. Some of the memories are very bittersweet

Sarah McLachlan's 'Hold On' does this for me. My aunt died from brain cancer about 10 years ago, and at the time, I listened to this album a lot. The words suggest that the song is about someone who's about to pass, and it always reminds me of what my uncle must have gone through.

anytime I hear a song from 1998-1999 it brings back memories...that's when all the boy bands came out and britney spears and christina aguilera...and that's when a lot of spanish artists blew up like ricky martin and enrique iglesias...
