Q re: invite wording

Just wondering as I was putting together our guest list...

when we send our save the dates and we want to make it clear that someone is invited w/ a guest (bf/gf not hubby/wife), how should I indicate that on the envelope?

shld it say:

Ms. X and guest?

OR

Ms. X and Mr. Z

?

TIA!

it should be Mr. John Smith and Ms. Jane Doe

it you look up Emily Posts wedding ettiquette states that the 'And' shows that they are not related.

You guys are awesome, thanks!

one little caveat...

what if there is mrs. X and mr. Z and then mr. Z's kid....? lol

i swear i think invites and their wording are the most difficult thing to tackle!!!

I wasn't planning on doing it for the STD's either, but we have A LOT of OOT guests and if they want to book hotels/plan airfare/etc. I want them aware of who is actually invited! (and who isnt ) lol

For our STDs we did not put and guest on any of the envelopes. We are saving the and guest for the wedding invitations.

If any of our friends are in a serious relationship ( we have hung out with their significant others and know their names, then we put Mr x and Ms y. other than that we just put the person we are inviting.
