When you go to pick up your dress after all the fittings, do you try it on just to make sure it's perfect, even though it's been steamed, risking wrinkling it? Or do you just trust that everything is perfect?

Re: Qestion: When you pick up your dress...
after mine was steamed and put in the garment bag, I didn't try it on again. I had a fitting two days prior and the alterations at that point were very minimal.

I think if you still needed major alterations after the last fitting then yes you should try it on when you are there.
If nothing was done to it after the last fitting, I would take it out of the bag and inspect it... make sure nothing happened to it but probably not try it on.
when are you going? I pick up mine on Tuesday

Thurday. I've had major dress drama, so I'm still a little nervous because I didn't have the same steamstress for all my fittings. But I don't want to be obnoxious either...
It's getting so close! So exciting!

I didn't. I did look at it though to make sure a button & beading had been fixed & tha the creases where they let the seems out were gone.
Make sure you look at it closely--my cousin's hem was still pinned! We didn't realize it untill we got home & thenm had to go back & they fixed it right there while we waited.
BTW, my parents are going to a wedding at your hall on the 2nd! I'll ask them not to trash the place You know how parents can be!
Best wishes for a wonderful wedding!

Yes I tried it on again and then they steamed it again for me and then I took it home.

Re: Qestion: When you pick up your dress...
I had some problems with what the seamstress was doing during the fitting process, so I told them I would not take the dress until the work was finished and I could try it on. They said they wouldn't steam it if I was going to try it on again. So I went in and tried it on one last time, then they steamed it and I picked it up 2 days before the wedding. I was so glad to be done with it!

Better to be safe than sorry.
Yes, examine every seam, button, etc.
And make sure someone REALLY knows how to do your bustle if you are having one. Most BM don't have a clue... I've seen it at weddings. I've been a bridesmaid so many times, I ( as a guest) usually some to the rescue.
