In the back of my mind i knew it was coming, but never the day it was.
We were sitting watching tv and making dinner plans w friends... We got into a tiff because i didnt want to put together our memory scrap book before dinner- why start a project now i kept saying.... After all my crapping, he went to get the box (ring inside) and he dropped the box on the floor, ring box on floor and you know how the rest of the story goes :)

I wasn't really surprised. I had an idea it was coming but didn't know when or how exactly. It was my birthday weekend and we went out to the wineries. Had a bottle of wine. Then we walked into the vineyards. He was getting all romantic. I said enough already. He jumped in front of me and was on his knee!!!

Mine was a surprise. He told me that we were going into the city to go ring shopping, but he already had bought the ring and we went to Central Park to walk around and thats when he did it.

The proposal wasn't a surprise but the timing was a complete shock...we talked so much about it and I was not expecting it until maybe six monhs after he actually did it...meanwhile, he was planning it for a long time and apparently the whole world knew lol

I knew we'd get engaged someday but the timing was surprising. He'd picked my ring out, with my two daughters and everyone but me knew about it.....shocking, too because I would normally say that I was pretty observant - how did I miss all of this planning?!?!?

I have to say I was completely surprised. I mean we were talking marriage and he had started running ring styles by me. But I honestly didn't think it would happen for another year or so.

Funny! Ours is a very similar story, I knew it was coming just not sure what day. He also did it at our home after he took me out to dinner, had ice cream, and was in a food coma He was pacing for a little bit when we got home and then came downstairs with the ring and did it....it was very sweet

I was surprised! I knew it was coming but he defintely threw me off big time. I thought he would propose next year (meaning 2012) and he ended up popping the question Labor day weekend 2011!! We had an amazing day and ended up back home. This is when he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. Best day ever!!!

Never in a million years did I think he would have proposed that day! I thought we would be dating 3-4 years before we even started considering it. but apparently he had other plans in mind

I knew he was going to propose since we started planning our wedding and booking vendors. We also got the ring together. All I wanted was for the way he proposes and the date to be a surprise. So he came to my job and waited for me to leave work where he had a red carpet rolled out the door. He was dressed as prince charming, decorated my car with balloons and had my ring inside a glass slipper. Best surprise ever!!!

I knew he was going to propose but I thought it was going to be on a cruise we were taking in April of 08 so when he did it on Thanksgiving Eve 07 I have to say I was surprised.

I knew it was coming but I didn't know when. We have been dating since High School (10years!). He proposed two days before Christmas and caught me completely off guard. He knows I hate surprises so he really did get me! We went out to dinner, went to look at Christmas lights and he brought me by the water (where I continued to be completely clueless as to what was going on). The ring was in his breast pocket the entire time.
