First, I’d like to thank berri for messaging me and letting me know that being BOTW is not as daunting as I thought and there wouldn’t be as much pressure as I thought there might be either!![]()
Well, I’m not so sure what the Question Of The Day is supposed to relate to, getting to know everyone here or ask practical questions about weddings and wedding planning, so I figure, maybe personal for the first day?
So my question(s) for the day is, WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR FIANCE, AND HOW DID HE/SHE PROPOSE OR HOW DID YOU PROPROSE?
I’m going to keep mine ‘short’
otherwise I’ll RAMBLE on but feel free to write a book if necessary! I love romance stories. ![]()
Anyway, I fell in love with my fiancé overtime. He made me laugh and became my best friend and confidant. I completely feel comfortable and trust him more than anyone I’ve ever met and he has a wonderful heart even though he has a dry sense of humor that not many people may get. He’s really smart and I love that. And the both of us are complete geeks so we get a long really well.
?
Our proposal: We rarely get dressed up or do “fancy” things and he suggested we do that. He’d pick and surprise me with a nice place to eat and then we’d watch a concert in the night. (I didn’t think he’d propose or anything like that because we had discussed it already and I had in my mind a few months later than that and I thought I’d go ring shopping with him.)
So, we went for brunch in the city at the Oak Room at The Plaza and it was great. We had so much time to kill between brunch and the concert in the evening, he wanted to know if I wanted to go ice skating. I said there was an ice skating rink in Central Park we could go check out and he said OK. As we were walking it popped up we were hardly dressed for ice skating so decided to just to take a long walk in the park. We walked for an hour and it was nice but we decided to stop at some benches to enjoy the scenery. He sat down and asked me what I wanted to do now since we still had tons of time until the concert. I said whatever, I wasn't too fussed.
He all of a sudden asks me, 'well do you want to go to Tiffany’s and get this sized?' He quickly spun around and was on his knee in front of me with a blue box. I had no idea what was going on. The first thing I heard from him was 'You're my best friend'... he was still talking but I didn't hear him... I asked 'Is this a joke?' and laughed. I thought it was a joke and they were earrings or a charm because we joke around about things like that but then I saw him start to tear up while talking and I lost it and freaked out. A happy freak out. The last thing I heard was 'Will you marry me?' He didn’t hear me say yes and I didn’t even open the box for like a minute so, I didn't know what he was saying during my freak out and he didn’t know if I said YES as he still had the ring box and I didn’t take it from him and he didn’t hear me, he was freaking out too. I said YES like three times. We were both confused. Haha Anyways, the day went on hours went by quickly as we called family and friends, and went to the concert that was fantastic. I cried so much for hours and hours walking around Manhattan! I was a mess. He had planned it all out and I had no clue which still gets to me till this day! It was the happiest day of my life and his ever since. The end.
