Happy 4th of July everyone! I have a busy day ahead, so I decided to post the QOTD before I go to bed. My question for today is:
How is FH contributing to the wedding planning? Are there any aspects that you've let him take the lead on?
FH has been so amazing throughout this process. Even though he can’t take a lot of wedding talk and zones out after awhile, he does come with me to all the vendor appointments. He even emails them and sets up appointments/follows up when I’m busy at work. He really surprised me with his mad skills in graphics and website designing. He is going to design our save the dates and invites, and he said that he could even edit our wedding video to get a 3-4 minute recap to post online! I knew he was good, but I had no idea he was that good lol (he showed me the gaming websites he had designed back in his college days, and I was blown away). He is going to be in charge of the attire for himself and his groomsmen. He showed me what he had in mind, and I loved it! I am not too good at crafts, and he has even agreed to help FMIL and I DIY centerpieces! I feel so lucky to be marrying such an amazing man.
FH has been very involved every step of the way with planning. And for stuff he couldn't care less about, like my wedding day nails or place cards, he at least listens to me yammer on and on about it.
He's most excited for the honeymoon, so I've let him take full responsibility for planning that out!

FH has been very involved, we've gone to all the appointments together and we've made all the big decisions together. He's taken te lead in finding a DJ, did research and ultimately we both agreed on the same one! Now I'm looking into florists and he has put me in charge since this is an aspect more important to me. It's worked out so far, we've been able to compromise at times when we have differing opinions, but what's been the best is so far all the things he has 'had to have' (the date, the photbooth, the favor) I've loved too so it's a win win! Lol

My FH hasn't really done too much, because he would just rather me do it lol- so for alot of the little things like invites, save the dates, bubbles, flip flop basket, etc. i just did that and he told me if it looks nice haha.
He was, however, a big help with the music. He and my dad picked out the string quartet for the church, and he helped picked the DJ and cocktail hour band. He also knew the right questions to ask for the limo appt. because he's really into cars and stuff.
But he didn't come to the appointments for the photographer/videographer or florist. he just let me pick all of that because he really doesn't care about that stuff. I've been doing alot of the planning with my mom, his mom, and his godmother mostly, and i think that's the way he likes it (and the way I like it) lol...so many people get upset that their FHs aren't that involved and whatever, but my FH is involved when I want him to be, and that is the best scenario IMO. I would much rather this than having him involved all of the time and making decisions more difficult! lol

I make all the vendor appointments and if he can make it he comes. As for photographers, I met with JayLim with my mom only because he got stuck working OT that day. We had other photography appointments set up but I just loved JayLim. I called him at work & he told me to book. He has zero interest in flowers so he wasn't involved in that either.
Michael isn't very invovled but we listen to what each other wants and i never book anything without talking to him first since its his money too that is going toward the wedding.
Certain things he thinks is a waste of money like STD's and flip flop baskets so I dont ask for opinions on that because I know he will say its a waste. When it comes to DJ, limo, venue, and important decisions we sit down and discuss it together.
I could ramble for hours about the wedding and he lasts about 30 minutes before his attention span fades hahaah
It works for us & overall I am happy with how the planning has been going.

FH has been involved from the very beginning. I would have been OK with a much smaller wedding but FH wanted to go all out. It is really cute how much he is involved and I make jokes that this wedding is for him.
We have gone to every vendor together and every decision financially or creatively we have made together. There is not one aspect of our wedding FH hasn't had is hand in. I really am grateful for that because after all it is OUR wedding. FH and I like so many of the same things so there was no conflict about this over that.
He has taken the reigns in terms of financial, budget, payment schedules, guest lists etc. He created his spreadsheets and monitors them and inputs all the necessary information but like I said he is just as involved as I so it has been a truly enjoyable process.

He's just not really a planner like I am so he keeps telling me we have so much time when he has no idea how far in advance vendors book up. So I've been doing a lot of it on my own as far as meeting with vendors and booking them. On the other hand FH has an amazing eye and is very creative so I let him take the lead on choosing styles of things. He helped me pick out the cake design and invitation design etc. I like that I can show him a bunch of photos and then go book the people myself because he's so bad about money he would be sooooo embarrassing in a meeting like that. He thinks everything is overpriced, which it is because that's the nature of the wedding business, but he just can't let it go even when we get a good deal.
Haha our fiancés our so similar! When I read this, I thought you were describing Adam lol.

FH is SUPER involved. In fact, I bought a wedding planning binder off of Amazon when we first got engaged. We wound up getting rid of it and using one he made on his own to keep all contracts together, haha. We go to all appointments together, and any decisions are made by both of us together. It was really important to him that we had a great photographer and videographer, so he did a lot of research on those two things. I'm really lucky to have him, because I think I'd be a lost cause through this whole process without him. He keeps me in check with our budget..I was ready to spend 6,000 on flowers--he's basically my voice of reason with a lot of things wedding related.
Edited to add: The only thing he wants nothing to do with is BM dresses and my dress of course ;). When I told him I wanted to start going for BM dresses he was like 'wait, do I have to come with you for that?' I gave him a big fat NO WAY! Needless to say, he was reallllly relieved

FH is pretty involved, but I think he's more so involved because he knows I need him to be T certain points :) I think if I turned around and told him I didn't want his opinion on anything he'd be pretty ok with that too. We talked at the beginning about things he cares Nd doesn't care about, and we've pretty much booked all the things he's cared about already (he's come to every appointment up until this point). He trusts my opinions and taste 100%, so when I booked a couple florist appointments which he doesn't really care about I gave him the option to come and he's opting out- which is fine with me! But ill always run everything by him before signing any contracts!

FH is very involved. I always run ideas by him and he always gives me his honest opinion. He has gone to every appointment I have made and we talk about everything before making a decision. I like having him with me for things cause it's his wedding too and we both want things to be perfect!

FH hasn't been very involved. He can't wrap his head around NY weddings and gets stressed when I talk about all that's involved. He came to the food tasting, but that's about it. If I ask for his opinion, he'll give it, but mostly he just says, 'it's your day' or 'whatever makes you happy.' He has learned a lot over the past 9 years! Lol

He's been involved in mostly everything. The only aspects he hasn't been a part of was the photographer because I just went right from work one day to book, and the DJ because we booked the house vendor. We've done everything else together. I show him the little details before I buy them, but he's obviously not on Etsy designing anything on his own

This is exactly us. He did the DJ and limo, we both picked photo/video, and I'm in charge of the flowers. And he has been to every appointment with me, even 3 dress appointments. But he doesn't know which dress I picked.

FH and I live together so most of our convos end up about the wedding lol and then after a while he's like ok enough, what are you going to so when this wedding is over? Lol. But anyway what I do is research everything a million times and narrow down to the one vendor I really like. We go to that appointment together and have literally only been to one appointment per vendor, we booked everything on the spot after seeing one company. I told him he is lucky that I'm not dragging him to a million places! I make the appointments for like 8 pm on weeknights. I told him ok now that video is booked you don't need to come to anything else if you don't want to. He's like of course I want to come to flowers, I want to see what we are getting! They are so unpredictable lol

FH is very supportive and he gives his opinion mostly when asked. I think his effort is just a perfect amount of letting me produce my vision and letting his taste be a part of our big day :)
