QOTD 07/11/08

There are so many ideas on LIW that I never would have thought of on my own if I was planning my wedding without this site (monograms, cardbox, DIY projects, etc.)...

Is there an idea(s) that you will NOT incorporate into your wedding?

For me it's cry packs and slipper baskets.... I guess I figure people can bring their own tissues and their own comfortable shoes for dancing... I'm giving them good food, good music, etc. etc. I've got to give you shoes and tissues too? c'mon It's a cute idea and if I had the patience and the extra money I'd go with it... but I don't so we're leaving it out.

I am not doing cry packs, bathroom baskets, and I am still thinking about the monogram. I think I will do the monogram but not sure what yet.

only thing i am doing is a card box, not doing anything else (cry packs, etc.)

no unity candles or cry packs ( i never cry so wth lol). the others i'm on the fence about (OOT baskets and bathroom baskets (only if the place doesn't have anything..i was in major need of Tums last wedding i went to and sure enough they were in there so it saved me)

Slipper basket (never heard of those till I got here)

Bathroom baskets, while good Idea, I dont know how practical they are. Plus, if you are in a hall with multiple weddings, you may be supplying it for the other wedding as well

no cry packs, no oot bags. technically no we do letters, only because we bought letters that say love a while ago and they're so pretty we decided to use them for the wedding.

I did not have nor want an engagement party. I hadn't even known people did that before I moved down here about 6 years ago. They seem like an unnecessary extra to me and I get thrown off when I'm invited to one. (Do not mean to offend!)

I am having a BBQ this weekend that my mom insisted on throwing for me... it's not an engagement party though... we're just celebrating the summer. I'm always invited to friends' houses for BBQs and such and we figured we'd reciprocate.

I get what you're saying.... I love other peoples engagement parties, but to me the engagement is for FH and I... I hadn't realized everyone else would be so excited about our engagement.

I'm uncomfortable receiving gifts, so I didn't want people to feel like they had to give one for my engagement too.

We also didn't have an e-party although we considered it at one point.

For the wedding we will not have a ring bearer, nor are we buying personalized cake server sets and champaigne flutes (unless we happen to get them for a gift at our bridal shower). We just didn't feel the need to personalize every single aspect of the wedding.
