OK, I want to first thank Suzanne for making me BOTW it's exciting not only because she picked me BUT because I'm actually getting married this week!
Today my mom and I went to the bakery to finalize and book the cake. We got a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing for 100 people. When I heard the price I couldn't believe it. So the question of the day is:
Through out the wedding planning process what is the one thing that shocked you on the price (inexpensive or expensive)?
I couldn't believe how inexpensive the cake was. When I heard the price it was well worth it to have a cake we want and enjoy eating. FH just discovered red velvet cake 3 weeks ago and requested it as our wedding cake. Due to the fact that FH has left wedding planning up to me I thought I would follow through with his request. Our RH give us a cake but we bought one and it just wasn't as moist as the one from Create-a-Cake so I emailed them for a price quote and I was ecstatic with their price! I can't wait to eat our wedding cake!!!!

I never realized how much photographers cost. Luckily we have a friend thats an amazing artist and is giving us a great deal. But yea....they cost A LOT!

Definitely the price of flowers...I was opposed to having a lot of flowers in the first place because they die and it's a waste, but hearing some of the quotes we got sent me into a tailspin! I definitely stressed over flowers more than anything else so far. Other things are expensive, but at least it's for a service being provided, something tangible, or edible...but for something that will die, HELL NO.

I cannot believe how inexpensive my BM jewelry was, I was so pleasantly surprised, I saved about $300!!!!!!!!!
I'd say all of i! lol I mean...all of these things re soo much less for any other event..but..when you say the W word...forget about it!

Flowers When I first met with a vendor I was like OH HELL NO! I'm not a big fan of flowers so there was NOOOOO way that I was willing to spend over a certain amount. Luckily I met with some local florists and it turns out they charge about 1/2 to 1/3 of the price of the wedding flower vendors for the same thing

i didn't realize how much a photographer would cost, as well. I was shocked and definitley didn't budget that in correctly.

oh for me, I would say live bands (holy cr*ppers they are expensive) and the first cake place I went to that wanted 10-20 dollars a SLICE!

i was shocked at how expensive my invites turned out to be! with stamps included we spent about $1000

expensive--photographer inexpensive-the price of the hall per person (was shocked b/c it is winter we got a great deal)

I would have to say most of it!! HA The florist... over 2k just on flowers? Geez.. The RH ... over $100 pp ... WOWZIE The Photograher...well over 6k! Ok... now I wonder why I'm broke! LOL

most expensive to me was the cake ...we are spending a lot of money on it but then again...I never saw this cake before...
