Let's talk about our bling!!

Did you pick out your ring or did FH pick it out all in his own? What about your wedding band. have you thought about what you wanted? Share a photo of your engagement ring if it lets you!

I wanted to be surprised and not know what ring I was getting, but FH wanted me to be happy with what I would have to wear on my finger for the rest of my life. So he told me to give him some ideas. So I started searching online, taking screen shots and sending them to him. Most of them I thought were similar but FH said they were all so different he didn't know where to go from there. I kept looking to try to give him a more specific idea, and I found my ring, I told him I'm done looking now lol without saying I want this ring please get me this ring. but trust me I dropped enough hints that that was the one I loved and I wanted!! He read me loud and clear and got the ring I wanted.
Im having such a hard time deciding on a band. idk what I want! I didn't like the band that is supposed to match my ring. I ordered something and it should b delivered today or tomorrow so I'll see what I think about that one. If I don't like that one I think I'm going to try a plain blue diamond band. then if I don't like that I think I'll just get a normal white diamond band. I know I want something different. with blue diamonds but I can't seem to find anything I like. I hope one comes in today and I love it!

ps tried adding photo 5x, 5 different pics none worked! but it's my profile pic and I have an album of it!
Can't wait to hear all about your rings!!

I didn't pick out my ring at all. I only once showed him a joke of a ring that I wanted but it was like a $10,000 ring. He picked it out all on his own. As for a band I just want something simple a diamond band.

Re: *~QOTD ~* 1-9-14

I helped pick mine out! Before FH moved away, we went to the jeweler just to look and I fell in love with this setting but was scared to commit. I loved looking at all engagement rings- I loved halos but I wanted something a bit less trendy. I have very long and skinny fingers, so I love that my baguettes give a little width to my finger. I also love how the baguettes contrast with the round center. After FH moved to PA, he was in a jewelry store and saw my setting! I couldn't believe that he had remembered it and found it, but he was right! Again we went together to look through their rings, the salesperson took out each tray for me to look at and try on...after narrowing it down, we were left with my setting. Then I knew it was really the one I wanted! They offered him a good price for it, and he bought it soon after, but still needed to save for the diamond. He picked out the diamond himself and tried to keep it a surprise, but I was too much of a snoop!
He says that this is the exact ring he would have picked out if he picked it out himself, but I don't believe him. His taste in jewelry is a lot more modern than mine- asymmetrical designs, etc...

There is a wedding band that goes with my ring, but I'm not sure if I want it. It is curved and sits flush with my ring and I am worried that I won't ever be able to wear it on its own. I kind of like the mismatched style anyway. I think a band like this would look nice with my ring even though it isn't very blingy. I am just sad to cover up the side view of my e-ring. Still need to go try stuff on and see what I like best!

One day at the mall, I was looking at rings in Kay's and he said show me what you like so I have ideas... There was only one that caught my eye, and I fell in love with it. That was in November and the only time we ever looked or talked about it. About 6 months later he proposed with that ring, which he bought the day before. I was impressed that he remembered.

Originally I wanted something different then the band that goes with the engagement ring, but because the engagement ring has so much detail everything I tried with it looks off so I am sticking with the set, which I am happy with...

Everyone elses rings are beautiful and I can't figure out how to post a picture of mine but it's the Neil Lane vintage set

For some reason it wouldn't let me upload images- I could only use the 'insert image' icon on the left with an image URL, meaning you have to upload it somewhere else first! Such a pain!

Everyone's rings are so beautiful & sparkly :)

FH had my ring custom made, he asked me what styles I liked and although I love all diamonds my favorite cuts are marquise and pear! Since those are less popular cuts now a days FH picked out the center stone and had the setting made up for me. I love the uniqueness of it and I really love how much thought he put into designing my ring. He's not really a romantic kind of guy so that was a big deal for me!!

Anytime we were shopping I would drag him into stores to look at rings and one day he actually wanted to go and it was his idea. He just wanted to see some styles I liked and I knew it wasn't going to be anytime soon just getting ideas. I tried on ones I picked out and he told me to try on one of his picks. I instantly fell in love with it and loved that the band was twisted. It is a vera wang ring from Zales. The day he proposed I was so excited to see that he went with that one because there were a few others in the running but I never liked them as much.

I have the past, present, future ring from Zales and I absolutely love it. It's funny one day I was out with my friend and she was looking at wedding bands and for 'fun' I tried it on and I got kind of emotional. I just loved it so much and knew that was the ring I wanted. (Hope this happens when I dress shop.. LOL) This was a couple years ago but my FH and I always talked about getting engaged and if I mentioned it it wasn't going to scare him away lol I actually sent him a picture of it... and wouldn't you know that is the ring he got me! I was actually surprised because his brothers now ex-wife's father was a jeweler and he always told me that he was going to go through him... but I am so glad he got me the ring I wanted!! :)To me the ring tells a story because we have been together so long. As far as my wedding band, I think I want a ring with the little diamonds going across like the design of my engagement ring on the sides.

By the way your rings are all beautiful!!! :)

The files are too big apparently for the other ring pics I have but this is the top/bottom view lol I love the hearts

aww so pretty! love the hearts!! I totally agree about the ring telling a story. fh has gotten me a piece of the journey jewelry every year, we have had a long crazy journey! so ilove that the sides of my ring have the blue and white diamond intertwined and they go from large to small like my journey jewelry! I don't have any good pics that are small enough I don't think but I'll try one more time.

Your rings are beautiful ladies!..... FH and I never went to any stores to try on or even look at rings... I showed him a few things online but was leaving it entirely up to him. My only request was that it was yellow gold. My parents, grand parents and great grand parents all have yellow gold bands, and being I am the first to get married I wanted to keep the yellow gold going. The ring FH picked out took me some time getting used to. But I absolutely love it! It looks like 3 bands but it's all one ring. People think that I am married already lol... I have nooo idea what kind of band to get...I couldn't take a good pic on my phone so I got the pic off the Kay website.

I've tried a million times to try and upload it! I just added them to my album

My Ring has hearts too!!! I was actually pretty nervous after he popped the question because I hadn't shown FH what kind of ring I would want- at all! I had pinned a few rings on pinterest & his best friend & wife had sent them to him.. FH's best friends cousin is a jeweler in the diamond district that made the setting for my ring- but he pretty much picked it out all on his own- and did a VERY good job!! I fell in love with it the second I saw it & fell in love with it even more when he told me how much he loved it just as quickly too- he memorized each of the little nooks in the antique-y setting and could not stop showing me all his favorite parts :)

Re: *~QOTD ~* 1-9-14

Everyone's rings are so pretty and all so different! Love it! I sent FH some pictures from Pinterest and told him that I wanted something square and princess cut. We never went to a jewelry store together which we probably should've have since the ring was originally two sizes too big when he gave it to me! Another funny part is that I had no clue he was going to propose and a week before he did it I told him I changed my mind and wanted something circular instead if square. He said he was ready to kill me but I'm so glad he stuck with the original ring he picked out himself!

Pics in Album!
