Good morning! So yesterday I was thinking about all the bills I have to pay and getting ticked off that I am the one that has to remember to pay everything bc FH can't seem to remember when things are due. So this leads me to my QOTD-
Who is in charge of the money/bank accounts/bills etc in your relationship? and does the other have regular availability to that?
I keep track of everything. I pay all the bills and check our account daily. If I see he took out money I double check to make sure it was him and not someone using our account. He always asks me how do you know so fast I told him because I check it everyday! I pay all of his bills and even pay for my e-ring every month (well I just pay the bill on-line and he gives me the money before its due) He has access to the account but im the one who pays the bills and deposits all the money

FH would be in incredible debt if left to his own devices. I definitely write the checks, transfer money, etc.

as of now, we both pay our own bills, he is really good with it, but I tend to be lazy sometimes (not too bad though!) We both have our own savings account and our own checking account and we have one joint account for wedding stuff! We are really good with puting money away every week for our account, but I have to stop spending so much on clothes!! haha

I pretty much handle all the finances for us as far as keep track of what we have in checking, savings, etc, and paying the bills. But I keep FH updated all the time with everything that is going on.

we're both accountants and we're pretty good with our own $. we put $ away each month for the wedding and we have budgets to keep ourselves in check - yea, we're dorks

It depends on what it is. We've split up our bills in ways that I'm in charge of paying certain things, and he with others. When it comes to things such as food, activities, etc., whoever wants to pay just does. We keep our own seperate bank accounts but also have a joint savings account to save for things such as apartment, wedding, trips, etc. We chat about our finances when needed, but thankfully we're both careful with our money and know our limits so that helps.

We each have our own accounts and then we have a joint acct. We each take care of our personal bills (cell phones, car payments, insurance etc.)
For joint bills (wedding stuff and our rent), i take care of all wedding stuff and he takes care our our rent.

We have a joint bank account that we both have access to. We each put money into it every week, but usually FH writes out the bills.

We have separate accounts, we never know each other's balances unless it comes down to we have this much left to spend, etc...We both pay the bills from each other's accounts (thank God for chase bill pay), but I have a better hold on when it's due and how much (always have numbers in my head)...We also have a shared spreadsheet on Google docs for the rent and wedding expenses.

I pay all the bills from our shared checking account. We also have a shared savings account, but I also have my own personal savings account. If it was up to FH, we'd be broke as a joke. More than we already are
But he has access to all my accounts since he knows my password. We always consult each other before moving money around or anything though. Its worked for us for 5 years, so hopefully it keeps working!

FH is now...because after we had a whole disaster with Bank Of America, I refuse to handle the stress of the financials anymore. They overdrafted us over $500 worth of fees for transactions that had cleared two days prior when there was still money in teh account and REFUSED to write them off stating its our fault for not keeping track. BUT WE DID. ARGHHHH...we dont have this problem anymore...we have TD bank now.

Since I bought the house we live in, everything is in my name and was already set up with my bank acct. So he gives me half for the bills every month, and I pay it from my account.
We just set up a joint account but really haven't used it for anything besides food, so I can't say one or the other has taken the reigns
But when we purchase our next home (our house will only do for a couple more years--it's SO SMALL!) and we use our joint account for the bills, I'm sure I'll be doing the finances, since I moved out on my own before he did and always seemed to have more bills to pay I like being in charge of that aspect anyway, since I'm used to it!

Right now we still have separate checking accounts, and we each pay our own bills. We have a joint savings account though that we use to save for the wedding. Once we move in together in April we will combine everything into one checking and then we will both prob handle bills. We do everything online anyway.

i;m def the one that pays. If i forget he wont remember. It makes me insane. and if i do forget he blames me and I'm like um...why dont you think about electric, water etc? ugh.

Since FH and I are living together we have the bills seperated... well sorta... LOL... he pays his dad the rent, and I pay for EVERYTHING else... when we first moved in i was like thats fine... the rent will be just as much as everything and then once things started to come together i realized i got the S**t end of the stick... i pay gas, electric, cable, food, vet bills, cat and dog food, paper goods... EVERYTHING.. some months i wish i just paid the rent...LOL...
