Along with the wedding I am also in charge of planning a 42 person family reunion cruise for July 2011. Some members of the family refuse to come because others members are coming. I have a feeling it's going to be the same way for my wedding but we shall see. Which leads to my QOTD.
***Is there anyone specific who is not coming to your wedding and whom you would really like to be there but you know can't/won't come?****
My no shows are probably going to be the dad's brother, wife and kids I referred to above and my parents. My parents have both passed on and even though I know they are here with me in spirit it makes a joyous day also sad.

I have a very small family - seriously only my dad's side and it's a total of 9 people. And 1/2 of them don't talk to each other. They're all coming b/c they wouldn't miss my wedding but they're going to have to sit on opposite sides of the hall.

FH's grandmother is 95 and lives in Florida, and she most likely won't be attending. I'm not particularly close to her, but I know FH would like her there.

I don't know if my grandma's brother and his family from Greece will be able to come...the tix are expensive and he is pushing 85. It would be great if they were able to!!! Also, my godfather passed away last year from Lou Gehrig's so he and my grandfathers are with my in spirit that day! I can't think of anyone who will refuse to come because others are going to be present.....I guess I will see when the RSVPs come back!!!

I THINK most people i care about being there will be there. But.... FH's family is from Kansas so a lot of his family won't be able to come because of expenses - airfare/hotel/car/etc. so i know he's gonna be upset!!!

Re: *****QOTD 10/15/09******
we have some what of a similar issue. FHs dad has two sisters. the sisters are married & have children. so they are FHs aunts, uncles & cousins. when FHs dad passed away two years ago one of his cousins got married. me, FH & FMIL where never invited to the wedding. they have not had any contact with that aunt & uncle since FH dads funeral.
we are being the better people. since FHs fathers death in January 2007, i sent them a Christmas card, & a STD. they are on this years Christmas list & will be invited to the wedding. however, if they do not attend the wedding then that's the end of them. i have no idea why they would have a problem with us. FH lost his father & at the funeral his cousin acted like the biggest POS. he didn't even give condolences to FH. in my book that's a big no, no.
i have a gut feeling that they will either; 1. not respond, 2. just not show up.

I havent spoken to anyone that said they cant come... Only one person i can think of that might not be allowed to come, depends on how she handles herself the rest of the way...

Well I wish my Grandparents could come, but they are deceased. Same for two of FH's Grandparents.
I don't know if that's really what you're asking lol, but it's the only answer I have

FH and I both would've loved to have our grandparents there, but they are all passed on.

Re: *****QOTD 10/15/09******
I am pretty sure that everyone super close to me is coming. But... My college roommate is getting married the following saturday, in westchester, but she lives in Philly and has a veterinary practice there... she won't be able to make it, because due to her own wedding she just can't take that much time away from work to come up here. I'm sad she won't be able to make it, and also that I won't be able to make hers - she's definitely platinum wedding material lol!!!
FH's cousin is in Hawaii and probably won't be able to fly out here, not sure why
My cousin is probably not going to make it bc his girlfriend is graduating from college that day... in minnesota, where they live.
My buddy from college probably won't make it, he and his wife live in ireland.
Ok I guess that's a lot more than I realized!!!

My grandma...she is my last living grandparent & I am SUPER close w/her. She is going to be 90 soon and the trip (from FL) would be too much for her. I would honestly give anything but there is just no way.

My 'grandparents' from PA. They are not really my grandparents by blood, but they are my cousin's grandparents on his mother's side. (His father is my dad's brother.) However, I was very close with them when I was little and always call them grandma and grandpa and I haven't seen them since my cousin got married 3 years ago. Unfortunately their health is deteriorating and they refuse to move closer to family so I doubt they'll make it to the wedding. I can still hope though!
