I guess since Frankenstorm has taken over I will ask about that. What have you done to prepare for this hurricane?

I haven't really prepared all of that much. I bought some non-perishable items and I have all of my candles/flashlights out ready to go. I work at a school and they closed today and tomorrow but my second job is still open as of now. I'm supposed to work tonight but I am praying they close. Stay safe everyone!

We are extremely prepared, however I'm freaking out bc if we take too many days off, idk if my district will give me an extra day for my honeymoon. Ugh!!!

we bought a bunch of bottled water and canned food, batteries, candles, etc.

We live in Queens, and are on the second floor so I'm hoping we'll be ok with flooding.
i work in manhattan, and my job is closed today. hoping its closed tomorrow too. My FH is a police officer with the NYPD, and luckily he is off today so he is home right now. I am hoping he doesn't get called into work today...

I've been evacuated and I'm currently at my parent's house. My street is flooded (you may have seen it on the news, I live in Freeport on Guy Lombardo Ave.) My parents have been told to evacuate as well. The water isn't near us now but we may be leaving in a few hours. NYC schools are closed so I don't have work for the next 2 days. FH is also a PO for the NYPD. He is normally off on the weekends but was called into work yesterday and went in super early this morning. I kinda want him to just stay in until the storm literally blows over. I don't want him traveling in this! Stay safe everyone!!

I live in Long Beach and we needed to evacuate so I am at a hotel with my family in Melville. we brought lots of food and water with us. I am so nervous especially that Long Beach looks so bad already and the storm really didn't start yet.

just stocked up on food and staying in with the family to stick it out, schools are closed so i am off of work and just feel terrible for you guys who had to evacuate, stay safe & hope your homes will all be fine!

My FH is staying with me and my family. We bought paper items, batteries and charging everything! Just waiting the storm out...sleeping on the first floor tonight. My neighbor has a tree in her livingroom SO hopefully we don't have the same fate.

I didn't prepare much. I just bought some snacks. I tried to purchase water yesterday but there was none left at the supermarket. I wasn't worried about losing power but now that the winds are blowing so hard I'm getting scared. Hope everyone is safe!!!

we got water, headlamps :) and bungee cords to hold some things down. worked out really well.

turns out after the fact we arent using too too much as we are going to work & other peoples houses.
