So....I was watching The Wedding Singer this weekend, which prompted this question:
Does he ever really let you hold the remote control?
Personally - Its a fight everytime, he just won't let me have it.

it goes back and forth but for the most part he holds it. i dont like to be in charge of the remote,so it really doesnt matter to me

If he is watching a game (whether football, baseball or sometimes poker) there is not a shot of me getting the remote. But when we are watching something together there is a slight possibility

we usually go back and forth. luckily we share similar likes and dislikes when it comes to tv so it isn't too bad. and lucky for me he doesn't mind watching bridezilla or amazing cakes. he'll put up a little stink, but for the most part he'll watch them. know i'm lucky on that one.

We actually have not had a fight over the remote control yet. He lets me watch what I want but if there is something he wants to watch he just lets me know.
We mostly watch DVD's anyway, not so much regualr TV.

when fh is at my house i always have the remote , a big part of it is because he doesn't know the channels at my house, i have verizon and he has cablevision so he always gets confused so i always have to put things on for him

No way...Even if he is across the room laying down in bed he knows when i move to go get the remote...I get the, dont even think about it. And when he leaves the room and i put on wedding show's, OMG that is the end of the world!!

neither of us hold onto the remote. we put on something & then just leave it on the coffee table.

I actually always hand it to him. We usually end up watching shows we tivo and i am not good with fast forwarding to the right place. LOL

its a masculinity thing....
Let's get all analytical about this....It stems back from the time when women werent working out of the home, they stayed home and made sandwiches....Then they started working and becoming more powerful then men, so the men had to hold on to one thing they could control, the TV...

he doesnt watch tv.. he actually gets pissed off when i have lifetime on..cuz he ALWAYS gets into it..and then gets mad that he was into a LIFETIME MOVIE (LIKE OMG) hes like ua nd ur women chanels!... but if he wants to watch a baseball game or watever..i just go to another room with a tv.. btu i always have the remote... power trip

mike always gets the remote...sometimes i'm fortunate enough to hold it...but it's all good, he is such a hard worker he deserves his remote! we usually agree on a lot of shows and movies though
