I was thinking this weekend how we are all starting a new family union mixed with our family tranditions and FH's family traditions....with many HM baby's being planned what tradition do you think you will keep around for your new family? (it doesn't have to be a holiday one)
For me we watch 'A Christmas Story' after making Cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve (okay no more Santa since my son is 18, but we still love cookies ) My son actually still loves doing this!

For me, it's decorating our Christmas tree with ornaments from everywhere we go. It's taken sometime to build up but when we put the tree up, it is soooo nice remembering the trips and places that we've been.
Also, Christmas morning is spent at my parents house watching my 2 daughters and 13 nieces and nephews unwrapping the present tree.

Hmmm, all I can think of right now is buying Christmas ornaments for everyone every year. I've been doing this for FH and plan to keep it up when we have kids too!
Oh and Sunday family dinners, my family stopped when my grandparents passed but now we do it once in awhile. i'm sure when there are kids it will come back more often.

I like this idea. I have a few old ornaments that my son made and ones I bought with his pics, but not as much if I did it every year. That is nice.

Definitely baking Christmas cookies. FH's father makes them every year so I'd eventually like to learn so I can continue the tradition.

I love baking christmas cookies.. choc chip, sugar, gingerbread all while dancing around to christmas music. FH and I have started a tradition of watching Rudolph after we decorate.

What a great question!!
On Thanksgiving, I always take my little brother to the movies. It started to get us out of cleaning (or him being in my mom's hair as we used to tell her), and is now a tradition. Can't wait to see The Muppets with him this year!!
My parent's do a big Christmas Eve open house. Christmas morning, we open gifts with my grandparents and my neighbors. Then we go to my aunt and uncle's for dinner and back to my neighbor's for dessert.
FH and I LOVE Christmas (hence the 12/28 civil ceremony)and can't wait to start some traditions of our own. We love watching 'It's a Wonderful Life' while drinking hot buttered rum!!

We don't have a real tradition. Decorating to me is a must and not a tradition. We did buy ornaments for each of us and our pets so we would do the same for the baby!
