QOTD 1/13

Hi Girls (and Boys!).... okay one of my girlfriends reminded me of the 'Something Old, something new, something borrowed, something blue' traditions and i was wondering if you will be sticking with this? And if so, what will you be doing for each?

I think for me:

Something Old - Antique Car we will use for our limo
Something New - is my DOJ
Something Borrowed - I'll be getting ready in my mother's robe the day of
Something Blue - I'm getting our initials and wedding date embroidered into the inside of my dress in blue

What are you planning on doing?

something borrowed - no idea


i guess maybe i should start figuring this out

borrowed - not sure yet
blue - cant say bc shawn reads this stuff

something old- an ankle bracelet I have had forever
something new- my dress

LOL Same here! The something new will be the dress though. Something borrowed might be family jewelry....other than that I have no clue!

Lol i know!! the only reason why i have answers is because i cheated and had time to think about it haha

old - my mom is taking part of her dress and using it as the ring bearer pillow
new- jewelry
borrowed- no clue
blue- flowers

something old- maybe underwear that i have already, lol not sure yet

...and for sixpence in the shoe--- i will be gluing a penny to the bottom of my shoe. lol.

Something old - my mother's necklace

Something borrowed - robbing a piece of my MOH's jewelry lol
Something blue - no clue (maybe NY Rangers garter?)

Something Old: already had jewelry that matches the scallops of the dress

Something new: I dunno if hte dress and tiara count as new, got them a year ago, but by then I may get a bracelet to go with the dress

Something Borrowed: no clue on this one, my MOH has a money bag that she is letting us borrow, dont know if that counts.


Something Blue, probably the garter or foundation garments lol

it supposedly comes from some old english rhyme and the 4 things (something old, new, borrowed, blue) that you carry with you or incorporate somehow are good luck charms... everything is a symbol for something like blue is a symbol of purity and fidelity, old represents continuity, the new stand for optimisim, borrowed signifies borrowed happiness
